This is a beautiful Raised Outline Navajo Weaving T his is a Mission Oak 2-Stack Bookcase. Made by the"F.E. Hale Manufacturing Co. Herkimer. New York) around 1910. The bookcase is made of solid quarter-sawn white oak, and features metal alignment bands on each section. The top section is 12" tall(9 1/2" usable inside) and the bottom sectionis 14" tall(11 1/2" inside) Overall the bookcase is 34" wide, 12" deep, and 40 1/2" tall. The bookcase is in excellent condition. And has been refinished with a warm, dark brown finish. The glass has been replaced, however the hardware is all original. Antique Globe wernicke Barrister stacking unit. 34 inches wide. 11 inches deep. The section has no breals, splits or repairs. I=The section has all the door hardware and scissor mechanism ans opens with ease. The door has the original brass knob. The section also has the original antique wavy glass and bands around the base of the section. The back is in excellent condition with no rippling or warping of the wood. It fits with all globe D sizes and macey sections. Reaal nice dark quartersawn oak finish. No surprises. I would prefer local pick up but would look into shipping. This five section stacking"lawyer's" bookcase is entirely original from about 1905 during the Arts and Crafts or Mission Oak period. The base and top are separate stacking pieces as well. The original deep finish on quarter sawn oak is very well preserved. It has been waxed and buffed so an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth will maintain its warm patina. Doors have original wavy glass and pyramidal oak knobs on this American made antique furniture. The labels are mostly missing. This appears to be from famous maker, Globe Wernicke" of Cincinnati, Ohio. Four identical sections fit books up to 8 1/2" wide and 9 1/2" tall. Original brass side straps and handles polished and clear coated so will not tarnish. All original wavy glass. Only flaw is a burn spot on top.
