Danish Teak Table Edvard Kindt-Larsen France & Son Retro Vintage Mid Century
A solid teak side table by Tove& Edvard Kindt-Larsen for legendary manufacturer. France& Søn. Along with the Kindt-Larsen's, many of the premier Danish designers eventually designed pieces for France& Søn including Finn Juhl, Peter Hvidt, Ole Wanscher and Arne Vodder. This table is part of series of lounge tables that were constructed entirely from solid teak. The tabletop is constructed from laminated planks of teak with a very stylish curved lip that runs down each side. This curve is carried through to the support underneath that holds teak slats which forms the shelf. We love how the shelf slats follow the curve upwards to prevent magazines, books or other objects from falling off. The teak has a wonderful patina that is only developed form years of use. Stuart also owned the famous John Widdicomb Company. The Stuart showroom became one of the premier Modern Show rooms in the world showing Scandinavian designs. This is a cute little mid century side table. It stands 17.25" tall. The top is 14.25" x 14.25" The round base is 11" in diameter. The top is a shiny faux-wood or formica with a plastic edge. The base is a matte faux-wood with a painted edge. I believe the middle pole is real wood. It is in good used vintage condition. There is some scratching and scuffing to the top. Retro Vintage Mid Century Modern 1950s 1960s Dinette Table 4 Chairs Chrome
A very unique set. I have been to many auctions and have never seen a retro set quite like this. The pattern on the chairs is complex with multilayer color and silver starbursts. The table includes two leaves. With a very nice sliding extension. Both leaves have skirts on the sides, so when the table is extended, it does not look like something is missing as some tables do. There are 4 chairs. But there is plenty of room to add more chairs. Top measures 6x3 feet with the leaves in. Each leaf is 1 foot. The table is 30" tall. A beautiful set that is an attention getter. Very clean and ready to use. Check out the chrome detail on the legs. The top is very solid. No wobbles.
