Antique HARTMANN TOUROBE Wardrobe Trunk Case/Steamer Luggage Case
UP FOR AUCTION IS AN ANTIQUE HARTMANN TOUROBE WARDROBE CASE/STEAMER TRUNK This antique Hartmann Tourobe is still in great condition minus one of the handles has come unattached. As expected for an all original Tourobe of its age there is also some scuffing on the exterior. Inside still looks great and has the original hangers. Three for suits and three for pants, internal straps are complete. The case has two sections, a hanging wardrobe on one side which has a velvet covered pad to protect the suits and fastens with two sets of stud buttons holding the clothes in place. Coming from the late 30’s made exclusively for Sax 5 th Avenue by the Hartmann Luggage Company. Following the days of steamer trunks. Hartmann Tourobe Wardrobe Steamer Trunk Antique HTF!! VERY RARE!
This antique Hartmann Tourobe is still in great condition. However. Like all original Tourobe's from the turn of the century, there are some scuff marks, scratches and such on the exterior. Look closely at the destination it traveled. It was sent from a teacher in Germany to an officer in Brooklyn New York. What a distance! Inside still looks great and has the original hangers. 6 total hangers, four for suits and two for pants, internal straps are complete. The case has two sections divided by the hinges: 4 divided sections for folded clothing and miscellaneous items secured with adjustable fastening fabric straps. a hanging wardrobe on one side which has a cotton twill covered pad to protect the suits. which fastens with two sets of stud buttons holding the clothes in place. 2 of the 3 buttons are functional. Enabling the section to ... morebe covered. The fastener can easily be replaced by going to a hardware or craft store. I did not want to replace the fastener as it would change the piece from it's original state. Coming from the beginning of the century(early teens of the 1900's) made exclusively for Sax 5th Avenue by the Hartmann Luggage Company. VINTAGE HARTMANN TOUROBE GIBRALTERIZED CONSTRUCTION PULLMAN TRUNK(CIRCA 1939) This was a very interesting piece to reseach. The print advertisement shown above dates to 1939. I also found information that the Hartmann Tourobe design was created for Saks Fifth Avenue. The exterior of the case indicates it has been well traveled and has developed an exquisite patina. The interior of the case remains in near mint condition complete with four hangers. The Gibralterized Construction is stated to be five times stronger than similar luggage. Vintage or Antique Hartmann Tourobe Wardrobe Travel Steamer Trunk Suitcase
This is an antique or vintage Hartmann Tourobe made in Racine WI travel wardrobe trunk. Trunk measures about 35" x 20" x 12" This has been used. There are surface scratch/rub marks on the outside of the trunk, the leather handle is broken off, the closures work but there is not a key to lock them. Trunk is has markings on the end that say Lt. Comdr. Johnstone MCVS U.S.N.R. on the end and a sticker that says Gibalterized. The Hartmann Tourobe Racine Wi sticker is intact. There are travel stickers attached to the outside and a tag that says Railway Express, Inc. War Won't Wait, if that helps to date it. This outside is black with metal, and not sure what the main material is, maybe a pressed wood. The inside is blue with 3 compartments on the fold down side, 2 of the compartments have cloth ties, the top cloth part folds ... moreover and snaps at the end, snap pieces are intact. The other side has 2 wood hangers and the metal pieces that hold the hangers fold in to hold the hangers and can be folded out when the trunk is opened. There are some water marks on the cloth cover of the fold out part and a musty smell to the inside of the trunk. The red stripes on the outside of the trunk do have rub marks.

HARTMANN TOUROBE STEAMER PULLMAN TRUNK 1930'S-40'S LEATHER AND SILK EXCELLENT
Item is in great condition considering its age and travel. Top handle was repaired with risen and rope that's considerably tougher than the leather counterpart neatly done also. The white strip is residue from what seems to be duct tape. There are no holes in the shell and no mildew smell. The Trunk has some scratches and scrape. All mechanisms are in excellent working condition. One snap has some pulling away at the top of the material. All of the accessories are intact. Item has a 3/4" hole in the silk covering also

Hartmann Tourobe Suitcase/Trunk/Wardrobe All original and in great condition. This is a suitcase from the early to mid 1900s. Comes with the original hangers and is in great condition. It has normal wear(scuffs. Edge protectors have scratches, and someone used a marker to cross something out on the bottom of one side) All the hardware is original and functioning. The Hartmann badge is still on and it even has the little patent label still attached. There is a small clear plastic piece with the Hartmann name on it and a piece of paper slipped in it with letters and numbers on. Not sure what it is but it is there and the owners initials are visible by the handle Inside is in excellent condition with no rips or tears in the fabric and all snaps still there. There is one small divider that is coming away(see photos) The exterior has some scuffs ... moreand scratches but no gouges or punctures to the shell. What an awesome piece of history this thing is! It's in great shape. Considering its age and that it's probably traveled around the world. There is no key but I'm sure you can get a locksmith to figure that one out. 21" x 12" x 35" and ready for travel. Or as a display piece. Both handles are still in great shape and the hinges are all holding strong and intact. This is not a family heirloom so I do not know the history of it. There is a ladies name on an old sticker label on the side. This thing need to travel the world again and this time needs all the country stickers slapped on it like it was suppose to be. Please ask all questions first because due to the nature if this thing it is sold as is. You will love it!

Vintage Hartmann Tourobe Slim Steamer Wardrobe Trunk Striped Suitcase C1920
This is a fantastic vintage antique skinny half wardrobe trunk made by Hartmann. I believe it dates to the 1920's-30s. The truck can be unmatched to form two separate sections. It still has it's two keys and is in very good to excellent condition for it's age and use. All the leather is still good and the inside is excellent. The outside has some usual scuffs and scratches. We found some cute vintage soaps and a sexy vintage advertising notebook with a pin up illustration on the cover in the trunk so I will include them in the sale since they've been together for so many years. This trunk had one owner. I got it out of an attic where it had been for at least 50 years. Local pickups are welcome and if the shipping looks crazy it is probably wrong.
