It is truly a nice period untouched table. It has a ribbon mahogany top, round corner drop leaves, heavy bold column four legged base, solid cast brass Duncan Phyfe claw foot and built in castors. I normally don’t buy period furniture like this, but I was very impressed by how untouched this piece was. The overall size is 40.5 inches long, 24 inches wide when the leaves are closed, 15 inches wide on each leaf, 52 inches long when the leaves are flipped up. The finish is very nice for being 180 years old. It does show normal nicks, dings and scratches, but I believe it would rub out nicely to make a good presentation.

It is in beautiful condition. It is a nice brown with a slight red tint on the solid mahogany. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was of European decent. It has a metal hand forged wingnut on the base and the stand will actually come apart. The top is a lazy susan. It has the plate rail end on the top and middle shelf. It has duncan phyfe solid mahogany legs that terminate in a brass cap foot. This is definitely a period table. The overall size is 22 inches round on the top shelf, 25 inches round on the bottom shelf, 37 inches high to the top shelf and 21 inches high on the bottom shelf. It is a great stand at a reasonable piece. It is a good honest period piece.

Duncan Phyfe Dining Room Furniture Set-Lustrous Finish
Duncan Phyfe styling with the not so often seen plume and drape design on the chair backs. Nicely turned double base with brass claw foot ends. Set includes the table and 6 chairs. Which is the 5 side chairs and 1"host or hostess" chair which was the standard set type back in the day. There are no leaves anymore. You will need to have the chair seats recovered again. I do have the pattern from when the old/original was removed in order to refinish it. The lighter refinishing on the chair seat ends is because the fabric overlapped and was ended with brass studs-see the last picture of how it originally looked. I have $650 into the original purchase and $1800 for the refinishing work for a total of $2400. Pair of antique footstools by Ernest F Hagen Furniture 1930 after Duncan Phyfe
This auction is for a pair of almost impossible to find footstools from the shop of Ernest F. Hagen Furniture& Antiques. Both are clearly signed on the under side of the cushion and incised in to the wood frame. The paper labels are also dated in pencil. 1930" so these would be after Ernest Hagen had died but made while his sons were still producing furniture. Hagen furniture is so well crafted that they are sometimes mistaken for authentic Duncan Phyfe pieces if not signed. These show signs of age and wear consistent with furniture that is over 80 years old. You will notice in the photos that on the high spots some of the finish is rubbed off completely down to bare wood. I do NOT consider that damage. That is normal wear. I only point it out in a name of full disclosure. Also of note is the fact that while the view from the bottom ... morereveals that the fabric on the bottom is original, another layer of"faux leather" in a gray tone was stretched over the top and tacked on. There is a good chance that the original fabric is still under the grey, but I can not make any promise of that, or of its condition if it is still there. Finally, one leg of one of the stools has a professional restoration. I took close photos of it for you which you can view in photos 6 and 11 from 2 different angles, but it is hard to spot in person, and almost impossible to spot in photos. The piece is sound. Both stools are tight and ready to use. Each footstool measures 13 1/2 inches by 9 by 9. While this is a pair, eBay terminology considers this one"item. That is, your bid is for both, not each. Duncan Phyfe Inspired Love Seat Furniture in Burgundy Floral Design
I apologize for my poor photography skills. Please note: the best approximation of color is burgundy and the best picture with which to judge the color is the third image. I have other pictures if interested. This loveseat has been appraised by two dealers in antiques; each dealer valued it to between $600- $700. Duncan Phyfe and Son last manufactured furniture in the year 1847. In that year. Phyfe auctioned his entire inventory and retired. No one continued the legacy by making furniture under the Duncan Phyfe moniker. This loveseat was inherited by the woman who gave it to me. At the time her mother passed it to her(2008) She had it reupholstered. While in mid cushioning the upholsterer claims to have seen the Duncan Phyfe Trade Label. This would be highly unusual because Duncan Phyfe rarely signed his furniture. In addition, if the label ... moreis there it could date the loveseat to pre-1847. The upholsterer did not authenticate the label and subsequently covered it with fabric. Further. The woman received the loveseat from her mother in 2008. By that time, her mother had owned it for 65 years. The loveseat was given to the mother by an elderly neighbor; the mother soon after that reupholstered it(ca 1943) When asked about it's age, the woman added that by the time her mother was given the loveseat, it was nowhere near new. I offer you full disclosure to the best of my knowledge. The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC featured Duncan Phyfe in an exhibit in 1922. The exhibit caused a resurgence in popularity of his furniture and many manufacturers began replicating the Duncan Phyfe style. Most likely this piece of furniture is from the 1920's. A little history: Brandt started in 1901 in the Hagerstown. Maryland area. The company went out of business in 1985, but a few years ago, a couple of former employees bought the company and restarted production. Many of my readers write me asking about Brandt furniture they've inherited or purchased at estate sales. I regret I can't tell you any value for your furniture, my expertise in is new furniture. I've included the factory contact information, but I can also tell you they won't know the value of your furniture either. They'd like you to buy new pieces from them! There is one anecdotal story about Brandt that made them infamous. In 1953, at the height of the Cold War, Julius and Ethel Rosenburg were executed for treason. The only concrete evidence presented at their trial was a photograph of a Brandt table, in the hallway of the Rosenburg house, which was supposedly used to photograph nuclear secrets which were then passed on to the Soviets. 1900-1950 Italy Aus Milano Furniture Co Duncan Phyfe Green Leather Top Tables
It is hard to say when this furniture was made. It was made by the milano furniture company who has been around since 1920. The tables were made in Possibly Italy or Australia as that is the 2 main lockations I have found on the internet. That is not to say they don't have factories in the US. I don't believe the previous owner when he said they were 1920 tables. Maybe 1940 or a little bit newer. These are the two most beautiful leather top tables I have ever found. Thank you for looking!
