There is very pretty floral carved blind fretwork to all sides of the table. The corners are supported with the original shaped metal corner straps. Below the blind fretwork is a further and final mouled edge. Finally. The table sits on four very elegant turned and fluted legs. These types of tables were often referred to as opium tables because people would either recline on a bed or on a floor with them and they would require a low level table to lean on or either smoke their opium from. This table has originated from India and would have most likely been used by either the British military or British Raj.
