I think that this table may be a marriage of a few different pieces. It appears that the pedestal is made of a brown colored wood and the base looks to be made of a more red colored mahogany. The pedestal may be walnut. The piece is very well done and displays well. The table top has a diameter of 17 3/4 inches. The table stands 24 inches tall and the base measures 16 inches by 16 inches. We inherited the table from mother. She inherited from her grandparents who lived in Elmira, NY. We were told it was built in italy or spain in the mid 1800, was bought by great,great grandparents and then given to each generation. It has had very good treatment over the years. Not sure of the original owners. No repairs had to be made through the years due to the care given to it. The brass works was cleaned twenty years ago. Inlay on table is of two birds, autmn leaves. The table is in excellant shape. Value should be at $25,000 or more but is negotiable. My great-great grandparents furnished their two story home, in Elmira, NY in the 1800 area in very expensive, victorian and french style antiques.

Nice octagonal heavy brass and glass tray table top coffee table. This style of tray table is very collectable now. It has a wood octagonal base with ivory faux finish. Oriental flavor with a Moroccan feel. Soooo-Hollywood. The heavy wavy pie crust brass fits into the base framing of the table. The brass has a rich patina or can be polish back to original. Brass Top Table Folding Legs Islamic Sufrah Style
This is a brass-topped table on folding wooden legs. Very much after the style of the Islamic sufrah, but almost certainly of European manufacture. The top is in thin brass on a sturdy wooden framework. It is decorated with an intricate design of flowers, leaves, arcades.all in a quasi-Islamic fashion. This top is in excellent condition, but needs cleaning.white remains of old metal polish. The four folding legs and stretchers are in bead-turned and varnished hardwood.a bit scuffed, and the top ends have been modified and replaced in somewhat amateurish fashion(see photo 3) but this is not visible in use, and the table stands firmly and evenly on its' little metal flattened dome feet. Thanks for looking! Information regarding Mersman: J. B. Mersman was a 19th-century sawyer with mills in Angola and Kendallville in extreme northeastern Indiana. He relocated his operations across the state line to Ottoville. Ohio, and when the lumber business turned soft around 1876, he started making tables under the name Mersman Tables. From his first table, he went on to make beds and bed parts, too. So successful was he that the nearby city of Celina, Ohio solicited him to build a factory there and provided $7,500 of seed money for the operation. That turned out to be a good investment by the city fathers. He was up and running in Celina by 1900, making beds, library tables and dining tables. But the precision details that were required to successfully produce large volumes of furniture were not to the liking of the old sawmill operator. He turned the business over to his two oldest sons. Edward and Walter, and their partner Henry Lenartz, a banker. With the old business out of the way, Mersman headed for Arkansas to start up another sawmill operation.
