Tea Table features nice deep color and grain pattern. With a scalloped skirt resting on four cabriole legs with slight carving to knees, with protective hard rubber foot terminal ending. There are no candle slides on this model. Construction is rock solid steady with stamped markings underneath, but no maker name, could be any one of several small factories making colonial reproductions of good quality well before the internet and big box store days. Glue blocks on corners undererneath are nice and sound. This is all solid wood, not a cheap chip board foreign mahogany lookalike with sprayed laquer finish that looks garish in person! Condition Report: Slight rub mark to leg as shown. Small burn mark on top. General wear and tear of a used piece. Barometer, ca. 1900, beautifully carved mahogany
We are selling this barometer"as is" Or for parts. It was unfortunately damaged in a move. The clock was too badly damaged to try to repair-it would have been on the bottom part of the barometer(see photo) The thermometer, in Celsius measurement, is intact in the middle. The barometer had a glass cover which was also damaged and thus removed. It is unlikely that the barometer works. However. All that being said, the barometer is mounted on a beautifully carved mahogany base; the top is carved in the shape of a rose. On the right upper top a small portion of one of the leaves is broken off(see photos) The maker is unknown. But we think it is from Europe, given the use of Celsius temperature in the thermometer and the French writing on the barometer. Another nice Ingraham done up in a mahogany stain and a black gloss paint. The ornaments were repainted. And the clock turned out real nice with it's six columns. The movement was taken apart cleaned and oiled with a strike hammer replaced, and a new paper face added. It strikes the hour and half hour. This clock is sold"As Is" You may have to reset and adjust the timing on this or any spring clock. I am retired, I clean and repair old clocks as a hobby. They are all cleaned and polished without using polyurethane. I run all of my clocks for 2 weeks before listing them for auction. Features ornate carvings in floral. Leaf& scroll designs on both the box and the lid. Inside is a removable insert which reveals three compartments underneath. See photos for details. The box measures 12-1/4" by 7" stands 9-1/4" tall with the lid and 6-1/2" without the lid. Weighs almost 5 pounds. Good vintage condition. Some wear from normal use and could use some cleaning.
