Industrial Machine Age PEDESTAL TABLE BASE ADJUSTABLE steel steampunk
A very unique steel adjustable pedestal base. The adjustment works nicely. This has a cool industrial/mechanical look. The base and top of the pedestal are an oval shape that measures 9" at the widest and 7 and 1/2" at the narrowest on the top and bottom. It adjusts from 13 and 5/8" tall at the lowest to 17 and 1/4" tall at the highest. feel free to ask any questions before bidding.

Antique Machine Age Industrial Cast Iron Drafting Coffee Table Base Steampunk
Here we have a great antique cast iron base with hand cranks on each side that turn a gear. The gear comes out a little bit above to top of the table base I imagine it would make for a cool adjustable drafting style coffee table. As you can see from the photos these legs are a bit top heavy. I put a small piece of cardboard to hold the two legs together and they stood up fine no problem so I don't think there would be any issue once a top is crafted for them. The bottom of the legs can also be mounted so this could either be mounted to the floor or even on top of a taller table to craft or even the wall. These legs stand about 18 inches tall not counting the gears and cranks.

The base is a cast iron pedestal from a metal working lathe from 1942. The door on the front opens. The original layers of paint are still there with a different shade showing thru in various spot from many years of use. The cast iron has been cleaned and lightly waxed to bring out its full character. The top is from a retired Patternmakers shop and was turned on a large wood lathe many years ago. It was a blank intended to be shaped into a pattern to make a mold to be poured in metal but was never used. It is built up from many layers of dense plywood with a top layer of fir in a pie wedge design for stability. Holes have been plugged. Very sturdy and quite solid! You can actually spin the wheel with one finger! Great item for repurposing! The base is heavy so it supports the top when raised to the highest position with ease. No danger of tipping over. After doing some research online. I identified this as a Karlo stand by some others online and the fact that it is identical to others for sale and sold and this one has some remnants of the Karlo tag in the place that it should and the colors are visible. The wheels roll with ease. The wheel and the knob that tightens to hold the height adjustment in place all work perfectly and with no hard turning. The wood table top appears to ... morebe quite old and does have some small damage to an edge or two. You can see underneath where dirty fingerprints have touched the edge of the top or perhaps turned it. Maybe from the ink of the typewriter ribbon? This is a nice drafting table base. The height is adjustable. It extends from 31" tall to 41" tall. The base is 30" wide and 25 1/2" deep. There is one screw missing. It is on the side and the table is functional without it. Also. There is a chip on the underside of one of the wood pieces, see the last picture, it isn't visible from the top, you have to turn the base over to see it. There are normal scratches and scuffs. We didn't polish it but I think it would really come alive with some Liquid Gold. Overall it is still an attractive and very useable table base. We will disassemble it for shipping. Otherwise we wouldn't be able to ship it.

I don't know exactly what this table is for or how it was used. The top is 16 X 26 Inches of an unknown to me type of wood. It is lumber core with veneer on the top. The pedestal is telescoping and can be lowered to a minimum height of 28 inches or raised to a maximum height of 42 inches. As can be seen in picture number three the top can be rotated to 90 degrees from the original position. It can also be tilted in either direction. There is a rod that can be flipped from one side to the other. I don't know what the rod is used for. But it can be placed in the other hole and it changes where it lies on the top. This table weighs 30 pounds and will require a large box at least 32 inches tall and 18 by 28 inches. Because of the size it will have to be shipped via UPS. ANTIQUE INDUSTRIAL DRAFTING TABLE MADE BY A. HOFFMAN COMPANY Outstanding antique industrial drafting table made by A. Hoffman Company(Rochester. NY) The base is marked“Pat D April 28 Dec 20 1910” The middle of the base is also stamped Peerless. It is a cast iron tripod, fully adjustable with four knuckle knobs. The distance between each tripod leg is 26 inches. The height is adjustable from 30-47" There are a few scuffs but it seems to be original paint. I believe the wood board to also be original.

Another hole has been drilled adjacent to the damaged area. This was done when the table was disassembled for packing.There are no other damages and there have been no additional repairs. The top plate and column have been zip tied to the base. The nut& rod are packed inside the column. The box is pictured packed but without the additional top layers of Styrofoam. Here is an awesome piece. It is a HEAVY cast iron base from an industrial machine. It is 29" tall, the top is 17" wide by 14" deep, and the footprint is 24" wide x 21" deep.
