Old Deco Machine Age Hand Made Arts Crafts Solid Copper Bookends Book End 13 Lb.
This listing is for a beautiful pair of vintage hand machined solid copper bookends. Together. They weigh 13.5 pounds. Nice original patina- I wiped them off with a damp rag to clean off the dust, and they came up nice, without damaging the original patina. I heavily cleaned the underside of one to show the rich copper color underneath(11th photo) The machining, and file marks are still visible in areas, and add to the great texture. They measure 4 7/16" tall, 4 15/16" wide, 3 7/16" deep, and the bases are 15/16" thick. Excellent condition with attractive age wear. Email with any questions, and check out my other listings!

Combining a masculine designed wood and cast iron mount with an exquisite silver oceans map. Cram’s dared to produce this unusual terrestrial globe for only a short period of about 6 years. The cool silver is a perfect contrast to the warmth of the ... morewooden base. Exhibiting a splendid Arts and Craft( Deco) feel. It proved too costly and difficult to manufacture the silver finished sphere. Being more sensitive to daily handling than the average globe. Not many of these exquisite models have survived. This fine piece of sophisticated elegance will demand attention in any setting and ensure hours of interesting review! The political display( which the age of this artifact is based on) of this fine artifact represents the year of circa 1936. The dawn of WW2, as Europe experiences the rise of the Nazi Regime. However, the expansion into other nations has not yet occurred. The Japanese Empire has invaded China and conquered Manchuria and re-named Manchukuo(1932-45) An interesting feature of the map; it displays the short existence of Italian East Africa(1936-41) This exquisite sphere provides the perfect vintage look. Guaranteed to be a conversations starter. If not for the superb design, certainly for the political display! A must for any globe or history aficionado. Description: The 12 inch diameter plaster orb is covered with 12 hand applied paper gores representing the map. The orb is mounted into a cast iron half meridi

Vintage Art Deco Machine Age Flip Clock Smith Metal Arts Moon Crest Numechron
HISTORY The patent for this clock. U.S. Patent No. 1990645, was granted on February 12, 1935 to F. A. Frederick) Greenawalt of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Greenawalt's goal was to create a compact clock with no dial or hands. Greenawalt's“flip clock” may have taken inspiration from the Plato Clock, a flip-style clock patented in 1903. Greenawalt worked for the Pennwood Company, which produced flip-style clocks for decades after he came up with the rotating drum design. Pennwood was founded in the early 1930s. DESCRIPTION This is a 1940s- 1950s flip-style clock with a movement produced by the Pennwood Numechron Company. This particular style. With its machine-age, modernistic appearance, is rare- I have seen dozens of plastic cased flip-style clocks, but this is the first aluminum cased flip-style clock I have come across. According ... moreto a more knowledgeable eBay-er(and somewhat confirmed by the partial sticker on the back) Paraphrased, the case is a Smith Metal Arts Moon Crest case and the clock dates to the 1950s. Smith Metal Arts was a mid-century/ modernistic producer of high-end luxury desk sets. The company is still in business in Buffalo, New York. The sticker indicates that this is Moon Crest Model M-130. I cannot find the clock movement maker mark, but I am assuming this is a Pennwood movement, as that is the movement I found in another clock almost identical to this. The time is represented by numerals on rotating drums. You can set the time by adjusting the drums by way of the access hole in the back of the clock. The clock is housed in what I believe is heavy-gauge aluminum, looks to be covered with a clear coat. The case sits on four shiny round metal feet held in place by screws. The clock measures about 8.25” W X 3.25” D X 4” H. CONDITION This item is in VERY GOOD CONDITION. When I plugged the clock in. It didn't immediately start. I had to reach into the back and give the dials a turn, and then the second hard started. I know there are some Telechron movements where you've got to get it
