It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. And clothing can be placed underne ath for conv enient additional hu ge storage. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. You see the condition, she definitely has character. The bare wood was once covered with a heavy type decorative paper, most of that is gone but you see some remnants of that in places. The original label was found in the trunk. It belonged to a gentleman in Escanaba Michigan. Maybe you can reincorporate the label back into a repurpose project(maybe lacqure it onto the top side? There is leather and metal construction incorporated into this little trunk. The leather handle is broken and the leather straps are gone with just some of their remnants being in place. As for the unique, original features, the trunk includes: a wooden ironing board, metal bracket for iron, a pull out holder for the ironing board, 6 wooden hangers- one of which holds a cloth laundry bag, a removeable wooden box(holds shoes.lap desk? and 4 drawers- among other features. It's missing the outside lock and original leather handle(handle was replaced with a strong leather buckled handle) The key to the inside lock, the narrow flat bar that slides in front of the drawers, and some material behind the drawers. Some of the material is faded. The hinges and drawer pulls are secure and in functional condition except one outside latch(this doesn't prevent the trunk from closing tightly. The metal rods that hold the hangers extend out to hold the ironing board and are easy to slide in/out. All the drawers are lined with material and are in good/clean condition. The top drawer is divided into three compartments and is in good condition. The two middle drawers are in good condition too. The bottom drawer is deep and has a shallow pull out tray which exposes a cool feature. The feature is a sphere shaped cloth form that straps to the side of the drawer with leather. The original leather is still in place and functional. But somewhat brittle. My guess is that a hat could be pinned to the form to keep it safe for travel. It measures 28 1/2" long by 18" wide ... moreand 11 1/2" tall. The original canvas that wrapped this trunk has been removed and the wood was sanded. Stained then sealed with of spar urethane. The interior has been redone with a newer fabric liner at some point in this trunk's history- it has some wear and blemishes but overall it is in very good condition. Sanded and the wood slats were stained with minwax"golden oak" then the trunk was sealed with spar urethane. The interior lining was removed then the wood was sanded and stained with minwax"golden oak" as well. This trunk shows some wear from age and has some minor flaws i.e. one of the hinges is broke(does not effect the stability, very functional) overall the trunk is in very good condition.
