I'm selling an Eames era vintage walnut dining table and 2 leaves from renowned midcentury designer Paul McCobb's iconic Planner Group line. Manufactured in the 1950s by Winchendon Furniture Company of Massachusetts. The table is 7 feet long with both the leaves in. Dimensions are: 29 1/2" tall 38" wide and 60" in length w/o the leaves(the leaves are 12 inches each) I also have two of the Paul McCobb mid century modern Planner Group chairs that aren't included in the asking price. C. 1750-70 Primary Woods: Cherry Secondary Woods: Yellow Pine Item# 100005WPP31 This is a remarkably well preserved original Queen Anne drop leaf dining table with gating legs over pad feet. It features solid tight grained entirely solid single planks of cherry making up the leaves and top. Each with warm patina and character brought to the forefront in a dry lightly glossy and rather early finish. Notwithstanding the significant cracks in the top and the slight warp to one leaf, the table is almost entirely original. These surfaces were repaired at one point, probably in the first quarter of the 20th century, an attempt to heal the shrink cracks along the grains of the very broad boards. To bring the best ... moreout of the table, these should eventually have the putty removed from the cracks and be repaired again properly; however, the boards are gorgeous and are full of glow even without being repaired. The leaves hang on fully original hand crafted and forged iron hinges. Each still in place and undisturbed, heavily oxidized with original hand forged screws. The frame is a fully dovetailed pine secondary structure with wonderful oxidization throughout. The gating legs join the frame with original hand forged iron hinges that uniquely swing the legs in a smooth motion- this is a rather rare feature, as legs typically would swing on a pine hinge with a wooden or iron dowel joint. The legs terminate in bold and well carved pad feet, each with excellent form. With wonderful proportions being only 40 1/4" long. This is the perfect length for a hall table in rested form with a chair on either side. In remarkably well preserved condition, the legs mostly free of repairs, an early finish and entirely original hardware, this is an excellent find for any serious collector of works from the Queen Anne period. ~ Beautiful Antique Tiger Oak 5 Leg Dining Table w/1 Leaf ~ Up for your viewing is an awesome tiger oak dining table that I purchased from an estate auction about a year ago. I actually purchased two tables. One was round(which I already sold) and this one. They both had been stored in I believe an attic, for they were very dusty and dirty due to being stored for many years. This table appears to have quite a few layers of varnish or stain on it and when they stored it I believe they put a vinyl table cloth on it, the kind with the cotton or felt like lining and through the years of heat and the layers of varnish it has on it the lining somewhat stuck to the top of the table. When I went to clean it up the fuzzy stuff would not come off no matter what I did so we thought we would try a spot with some paint stripper and it come off. That is ... morewhy the spot is on the top. My intentions then was to strip it off and restain it but never had the time to do it and hated to see this beautiful table sit around and need the space so I am selling it as it is. As you can see on the spot that we stripped under all the varnish that was on it the grain is beautiful and on the leaf, it is the natural color. This table is on wheels except for the center one is missing. But I should have one somewhere around here that I will put on it if I do. Also there is a piece of wood that is off on one of the legs as shown in the pictures. Other than that it is very nice. Once it is restained or whatever one wants to go about finishing the top it will look awesome. The table measures 42" square x 30" tall without the leaf and 25-1/2" from the ground to the bottom of the table. The leaf is approx. 12" wide. I have provided several pictures to view. Please view them carefully and ask any questions prior to bidding or purchasing. I will be happy to answer them the best I can. French Industrial Hure Dining / Restaurant Pub Table Vintage
I have a love for the old cast iron bases made from the late 1800s to the 1940s. A French machinist named P. Hure built many different lathes and milling machines that stood on them. They are rare and very hard to find. Especially in America, so I built this base as a tribute to him. It’s built with 1/4″ thick steel which is the heaviest gauge we’ve used to date. And the large connecting screw has a 2″ diameter with a 3″ nut that holds the two bases together. It’s massive and curvy lines blend well to support the 2 3/4″ thick worn oak top which is adorned with metal trim and bolted corner protectors. Antique Dining Table- was already an antique when I bought it in the 80's. Table measures approximately 36" square without opening the leaves. The leaves slide under table top and open out from the sides- each leaf adds approx. 12" to each side. Table is solid wood- I'm pretty sure it is oak. It is in good shape- needs a few small pieces glued on the underside. I'm selling it cheap as-is and I'm not sure how I would ship it. I need to get it out of my brother's garage. Authentic Antique 1932'HOOSIER' Tiger Oak Dining Table* This is a genuine Hoosier Tiger Oak dining room table with turned legs. It was made by the Hoosier Kitchen Equipment Company of New Castle. Indiana. It has a hidden extension leaf in the center of the table that is connected to hinges on each side. When the sections are pulled apart, the hidden leaf is exposed. It is then raised and jointed together to each section. Underneath, there is a gear that turns on two tracks with teeth as the sections are moved back and forth with ease. There is a metal stamped plate underneath above the gear area. That patent plate shows that this unique design was created& engineered by the Hoosier Kitchen Equipment Company. There is a small impression shown that is less than a size of a dime. There is some crazing to the finish and the legs and support shows wear from use. The table has been hand-made by a local Herefordshire Craftsman using local Hereford Douglas Fir. The table stands on classic turned tapering legs having moulded rails and the single frieze drawer which has solid pine linings with dovetail joints. Rising over this is the four planked Douglas Fir top retaining its natural finish. BAKER FORMAL PEDESTAL MAGOGANY DINING ROOM TABLE CHARLESTON HISTORIC
PLEASE NOTE THAT A LOT OF THE LIGHT AREAS ARE GLARE FROM CAMERA. NOT ON THE TABLE, LIKE THE EDGES THT ARE SO LIGHT ARE NOT REALLY LIKE THAT, SOME SCRATCHES AND FADING, BUT NOT NEAR AS BAD AS PICTURES. Do not think too many of these are in existence. Signed Baker, from aproximate 1940s, mahogany inlaid banded, formal, oval, pedestal, 2 leafs, historic Charleston dining room table. Pedestal base has 4 legs with shiney brass coasters. Lighter color band border. The table has aside from the pedestal, fold up leg on each end, for when leafs are inserted, pictures have both leafs inserted for best visual of the table. Being from the 1940s this table has survived 2 generations, and being Baker quality is still sturdy and beautiful, but does have some blemishes on the top of the table. Underneath and pedestal, all great. The top has some scratches, ... morescuffs, nicks from age and use, and not to be left out, I put a hot plate on the table and you will see a 2" in diameter, spot from that, it did not go through and crack or anything, just made the black mark, sorry. If it bothers you the way the top is, you can do what I did, and put lace partial tablecloth and place mats on the flawed areas, or, if you are handy can refinish the top, though all does not need it. I have pictured the flaws on top. The table measures with leafs 29.25" high, 45" width and 94" long. Seats 8 comfortably with leaves inserted. The last 4 pictures show the scratches, scuffs, bubble, and the burn I did. NO CHAIRS COME WITH IT. BAKER FINEST QUALITY IN EXISTENCE.
