ANTIQUE ITALIAN TILE TABLE MOUNTED ON CUSTOM IRON BASE CIRCA 1920s
Offered is a sensational dining table made of antique Italian clay tiles resting in a custom made bronze finished iron base. The tiles are circa 1920 and the base was created in the 1950s. The table measures 79" in length by 39.5" in width and stands 29" tall. The base. As we've tried to picture, has a center bar linking the four legs. The table comes apart, with the tile top in one large piece and the iron base in the other, and it is substantial, well over 200 pounds. The predominant color is green, with variations in the hand made tiles and the pattern, as pictured, is of an outer border and a pair of central sun faces. None of the tiles are cracked or chipped, but, the fact that they are antique and hand wrought and not contemporary is evident. The piece is nothing short of magnificent and when it is set with green, ... moreyellow, cream or pink china is out of this world. As we've pictured, we have a pair of vintage Italian iron chairs flanking the table which we will entertain offers on if the buyer would like them as they compliment the table perfectly. Pair(2) of Duncan Phyfe style/mersman Mahogany side tables with Lyre/harp base. Circa 1920's. Measurements are 27" tall x 24.5" long x 18" wide. Bought by my great great aunt originally they have never left the house until these pictures. House has been passed down. The tables are in very good shape but have a few marks/beautiful patina from over the years. Tables have not been refinished, and were oiled and old englished every so many years to preserve them. One leg has a dark area, not that noticeable. Has brass claw feet beautiful carvings on legs. Would most likely ship via Greyhound or UPS.
