This is a wonderful pair of antique cast iron Eastlake style shelf brackets! They measure a touch over 7" by 5" They date from around the 1870-80's. They are in as-found contdition and have green and are a little rusty. I have not tried to clean them at all. The condition is very good. These two vintage wrought Iron shelf brackets are at least 50 years old or more. They were in my grandmothers house untill 1970 and then removed and stored in my mothers attic ever since. They are very heavy and if mailed will require addtional postage for weight and size as well. They can hold three shelves. In vintage condition they have not been cleaned in order to keep patina in tack. The brackets measure 9 1/2" tall x 7 1/2 across the top. They have an ornate curl on the end where the shelf would rest. I would say a 6" deep shelf would be placed in the area. Each side of the shelf brackets have 4 holes for mounting to the wall and 4 holes to mount the wood shelf you provide. These were commonly used at the turn of the century and seen in Grocery Stores. The vintage cast brackets came out of an old shed where horse harnesses were draped over the rounded cut-outs on the top portion as they would mount. Also. There was other tack hung on the old cast hangers. Absolutely no cracks, breaks, or repairs on the brackets. All solid cast iron. All have three flanged cast iron lips for the wall mount security. If you wold look closely, you can see that the extended arm that carries the load is arched like a bridge for added strength. They x 1/4" x 1/2" oval arched support that connects from the wall mount to the scalloped top supports. They are very well constructed. All the patina/rust is light surface rust, nothing pitting. These could easily be painted to fit any decor. They would extend about 6" from the wall, the smaller hook is about 2 1/2" from the wall.They do show lots of age, one small hanger is bent outward at a small angle. There was wire wrapped around some of the brackets and when I removed the wire, I scrapped off the'age patina' and left a few small shiny scratches.
