Antique Machine Age Industrial Cast Iron Drafting Coffee Table Base Steampunk
Here we have a great antique cast iron base with hand cranks on each side that turn a gear. The gear comes out a little bit above to top of the table base I imagine it would make for a cool adjustable drafting style coffee table. As you can see from the photos these legs are a bit top heavy. I put a small piece of cardboard to hold the two legs together and they stood up fine no problem so I don't think there would be any issue once a top is crafted for them. The bottom of the legs can also be mounted so this could either be mounted to the floor or even on top of a taller table to craft or even the wall. These legs stand about 18 inches tall not counting the gears and cranks.

Antique Dietzgen Drafting Table University of Illinois Cast Iron Oak Original
Very Large and all original antique Dietzen(king of drafting tables) drafting or architect table- cast iron still has original paint from the early 1900's. this has a very old university of illinois inventory stencil on it with a 4 digit serial number. the solid oak wood on the base is in amazing shape with no cracks or bad spots. the original top with all original hardware is birds eye maple with a few ink spots but no bad spots that need refinishing. I have not tried to clean this at all. a refinisher told me simple rubbing alcohol will take the ink off, i got this for my kid but it is way to large for his room with the top measuring 3 by 5 foot. it stands 42 inches tall and can be adjusted down with the turn of a wheel to 33 inches. it can also swivel to an almost vertical position for painting or art projects or storing somewhere ... morewhen not in use. i will definitely allow local pick up but i will ship, it will be the buyers responsibility to set up shipping. it is quite large and im sure usps or ups will not take it-i saw where greyhound bus lines does shipping but you have to pick it up at one of their terminals for a couple hundred bucks or uship is a great service and could probably be arranged for a couple hundred dollars. im very easy to work with and will make this as effortless as possible for the buyer. if shipped i will wrap with bubble wrap and blankets for the shipment. i can also deliver within a reasonable distance for a fee of dollar a mile. very cool steampunk antique item that will hold its value and most likely increase over time. you will likely not find one of these especially in this great shape that has not been refinished. being all original and this great i think the value of this with being from the university of illinois and from the early 1900's i think the value of this is triple the starting amount.good luck bidding and ask any questions. thank you.

This cart has be completely restored- great decor and very functional repurposed as a coffee table. It measures 48" long(53" to metal) by 25 1/2" wide and 15" tall. The distressed wood has lot of character which is all original. The wood was lightly sanded. Stained with Minwax"Cherry" then sealed with two coats of spar urethane. Drafting Table- Vintage/ Antque 34.5" high. Adjustable to about 37" high- 24.5" wide Cast iron base is 18.75" wide and 11.5" high. I've had it since 1975, and I have no idea how old it is. It had no top when I got it. The wood is oak and the base and hardware is cast iron. I have the steel clips to attach the top. At some point there was another circular support bar, on the far side. Antique Mechanical Age Vintage Industrial Cast Iron Drafting Table. I bought this drafting table from a individual who inheriated it from his grandfather who intern recieved it from a dayton Ohio firm when he retired in the early 60's so the story goes. The drafting table does not show any lableing regarding the manufacture but it is clearly an antique. The diminsions: Table Top 60" Long x 36" Wide x 1" Thick. When cranked all the way down with the table top flat it sit approximately 35" above the floor. When cranked all the way up with the table top flat it sit approximately 47" above the floor. To raise and lower the drafting you release the pressure by turning a spicket type handle see picture number 9. Then you turn the wheel see picture 9 and then 11 for close up. Once you have the drafting table at the desired ... moreheight you turn the spicket clockwise to apply pressure to the mechanism to secure the desired height. The drafting table angles approximately 80 degrees in both directions. Again you use a spicket type handel see picture 10 turning counterclockwise which releases the pressure on the drafting table top mechinism then you push or lift the drafting table top to the angle you want and then you turn the spicket handle clockwise to to apply pressure to secure the angle of the drafting table top. For sale is this great Antique Dietzgen Cast Iron Double Pedestal Drafting Table Base. These don't come around to often. There are two small cracks in the bracket that would hold the top on. But this piece is still very stable. The table tilts and raises by turning the large wheel. The height at the top of the bracket without the top goes from 32" to 46" The leg span is 51 1/4" wide and 24 1/2" deep. ANTIQUE DIETZGEN CAST IRON DRAFTING TABLE INDUSTRIAL AGE STEAMPUNK
A rare Dietzgen drafting table with a cast iron base. Our research shows it is a very early version cast only with a 213 at the base of center posts. The table is height adjustable by turning the crank and tilts by loosing a handle. The treads are not SAE/USS standard which was established in 1906 and based on this. The table is probably dated from this period. This drafting table was found sitting upside down in the loft of my friends old junkyard near Detroit. I went back later and dug up and old drafting light which is included- last picture. The light works but it needs a part on the receptacle end and there is no shroud. But at one time it apparently was mounted on the middle top of the board judging by screw holes. The light does post-date the drafting board though. The 3 foot by 6 foot table top has a lot of patina its 100+ years. ... moreWe decided to leave this original top alone except for a few minor touch-ups with varnish. At some time in the past it had several coats of varnish applied to the table top. The top at three feet wide is narrower than most later tops so its convenient to use as an kitchen island or modern living room. The table has one odd aspect. There is a section of the vertical motion range where the board has to be tilted upright otherwise the curved track ear interferes with the cross shaft of the gear mechanism. A few items were repaired; one thread on a through rod at the base. The crank handle was replaced with a very similar later crank from a vintage milling machine, however the original crank is included. The bottom tubes where people rested their feet were straightened. There is still one tube in the middle that is slightly bent. The cast iron base was repainted in semi-gloss black based on some sections of the original paint. The base and the bottom of the table were painted black many years ago and some of this repaint had chipped off so we decided to go ahead and paint the cast iron base and any iron parts on the table top. Antique Fancy Industrial Cast Iron Table/Work Bench Legs
This is an interesting pair of antique industrial cast iron work table or bench legs circa 1900. They were found with the original wooden connector bar. It is hardwood and has years of wear from feet resting on it.On the back of each leg there is a specially cast socket for the connector with a hole for screwing. To re-purpose these legs you could use or not use the connector or make a longer one to suit your concept.Each leg has an upwards curving cast iron support that is perpendicular to the leg and would add support towards the middle of your table top.Each leg measures approx. 22 7/8" high. The width at the bottom is approx. 19" The width at the top is 15 3/4" On the inside one leg is marked L for left and the other is marked R for right. Great for a coffee table. End table, weird chair of some kind, or other steampunk/industrial furniture! This cart is from a local furniture factory and has been used indoors. Measures 48" long X 24" wide X 14" high. With the hardware the cart measures 53" long. The large wheels are 12" in diameter and the small swivel wheels are 6" in diameter. Hardware The cast iron hardware is solid with no breaks or bends. No rust since this cart has not been used outside. All Wheels turn freely and easily. Center axle is not bent and is dead straight. Wheels are 12" for the middle ones and 6" for the end ones. Frame The frame of this cart is hardwood and solid. The wood surfaces have wear from being used in a factory. Antique SteamPunk Industrial Cast Iron Drafting Table w foot rest 1894 60" Top
This is not only an amazing piece of American Industrial Age history but a usable drafting table. Artists desk. The desk top is 60 inches by 39 inches and has a great catch lip so that if you tilt it for storage you can leave your pens etc. Marked patent March 6, 1894 The base is 26 inches wide. The foot rest is 43 1/2 inches by 5 inches. The foot rest is a really great feature. The height of the table is adjustable by just about eight inches. So where I have the base at 37 inches high I think it is meant to be adjust from about 32 to 40 inches which probably gives you a standard 42 inch table height. This table came to me in this formation from another artist. So if there were other accessories or mechanics I am not aware of what they may have been. Someone had also added a piece of wood well before my time to stabilize the one height clamp ... morebar. I replaced the top screws for ease of adjusting the table top. As you can see it goes from fully flat to an upright position with any angle in between. It stores upright for space saving in a studio. It has obvious signs of age and use by artists, with pin holes, paint marks etc. This is awesome for an 119 year old working artist table. It can be refinished, and the hardware replaced or used as it is. A great piece of furniture for a loft or studio space. I haven't used it in a decade and I need to downsize. So don't be shy, make an offer! Local pickup only. The table is just about 3 hours from either New York City or Boston. From the photos you can see that this is a particularly elegant set of legs with a nice. Wide stance. As they currently sit, the legs are 28.5" in height but this can be decreased by approx 2" by loosing bolts on both ends of the leg(see pic#6) In pic#10 you can see a chip in the mount area.
