Originally designed in 1947 and made through the 50s. Edward Wormley was a preeminent designer of the time who also designed similar pieces for Dunbar as well as many other mid century modern classics. Wormley was know for his modern pieces but tried not to alienate the traditional buyer so his pieces work in many settings. Simple. Clean and modern style. High quality construction, made of silver elm and beechwood consisting of solid woods and veneers with blonde finish. It features six deep drawers with solid brass curved pulls. The top two drawers have narrow dividers and the third drawer has larger dividers for shirts. All dividers are removable if you prefer. This is a genuine Edward Wormley designed cabinet by Drexel circa 1950's. It has two slide out drawers and I believe it is mahogany. It is in very good condition some surface marks on the top and a scrape on the side and a small area of missing laminate on the bottom edge toward the back. The left front leg apparently loosened/ became detached at some point and was amateurishly(and inadequately) reattached. 2 of the drawer fronts need gluing at the dovetailed joints.
