It has heavy patina on the ... moreback of both brass trays. There is patina around all of the sides of the brass and in spots on the carved scenes. The wooden stand is in very good condition. It has some patina on the metal hinges. One of the legs has a missing supporting piece(about a 1 inch long little piece of wood) This piece can use some heavy cleaning. This table would have supported a lamp. This lamp is not included. Pleasingly solid brass trays are supported by a folding base to produce a two tier table. The piece is suitable both for permanent location or as on occasional table. When in folded position the table assumes very little space and can be slid under a sofa or such; in addition the gorgeous solid trays may be used on their own for serving and display purposes. The base is a six leg folding design with dragons head carvings to the upper. The trays display wonderful scense with floral and foliate detailing to the perimeter and a central engraving featuring oriental characters in traditional dress. Overall this peice of furniture is in good condition and will make a great addition to any setting. 20" tall approximately 17" width 10" wide lower tray 14" wide upper tray We are a non-profit store and this was a donation. We are fairly certain this is not a reproduction piece and is truly from the 1930's. We do not know much about this piece except for a previous Ebay listing of a very similar item that sold in the UK in Sept. 2012. Hence the ink all over it. Then it was a lamp table until now. All the wood is tight. There are no loose wood parts. Approximate measurements: 26 inch diamter. 28 inches tall The current finish predates the print shop. As it is under all the ink spots. The finish is likely not factory since it is splattered atop the signature. the amount of varnish is obscene! I cannot make out the signature. Any ideas? I'd love to hear them! Shoot me an email! Antique Duncan Phyfe Style Round Side Table Tripod Pedestal, Brass Claw Cap Feet
A lovely round Federal style table with a pie-crust top(scalloped on the inner and outer edge of the table top) Mahogany or Rosewood is in wonderful condition. Not sure which wood it is made from. But based on the weight I believe it is mahogany. If it were rosewood it would be even heavier. This one was part of the estate sale from a family that was cleaning out their 3rd generation 103 year old farmhouse. No idea who the actual maker is; is this a Duncan Phyfe original? I don't know; I understand that only a very few original Phyfe pieces(out of the many made) were actually marked. If anyone looking can give me more clues as to whether this piece IS an original Phyfe please do so and I will re-list with an appropriately higher price: Just kidding. Even if it wasn't made by Mr. Phyfe it is still a very old and beautiful solid wood ... moretable. If you can even find a table made from all solid real wood in the stores nowadays you will definitely be looking at a few hundred dollars, minimum. Look closely at the pictures. And note the metal pieces on the underside(pictures#6& 7) that were used in attaching the tripod legs to the spindle. Also take a peek at the screw heads on the underside of the table top(picture#5) this is a pretty good indicator of the age on this piece. The top can be removed from the base by unscrewing in a counterclockwise direction. The base is a tripod(three legs) The foot of each leg has a vintage brass claw cap. Sets of 3 of the new(not vintage) brass claw caps(without legs or a table! were selling on Ebay by another seller for $39.00. At some point in more recent history, someone placed metal taps on the bottom of each foot; it is obvious that these were a much later addition. take a look at picture#8! This is a beautiful. Heavy, well-made old table in great condition. The three piece set is in amazingly EXCELLENT condition! Each piece features a three legged empire design. Pillared on a black wooden base the legs of each piece are made of black metal and brass. The tables are made of wood with removable genuine Italian Carrara marble tops. The largest piece of marble is signed. I didn't check for a stamp on the underside of the marble on the end tables. But the set is all original matching marble) The edges of the tables have a brass trim. The lamps are removable as well and both are in working condition(see photo below of lights on) with their original wiring and cords(see photo below) To hook up the lamps you twist two wires together ... moreto make the electrical connection. I have the original caps to the wire ends as well(see last photo) The flaws on the set are minuscule. The top is incredible and features a rider mounted on a horse fighting what looks to be a dragon. It features many smaller pannels with animals carved in them. It is a very nice piece featuring some incredible hand work on the tray top. The top sits on a hand carved base that is made from one piece of wood. The base is pierced carved and interconnected. It is made from what looks to be mahogany. The table stands 19 inches high from the ground and it has a 1 inch rim on the top that brings the height to 20 inches. Barton End Table. I know it was made in the early Twenties or Thirties. It is a Barton Table. The Tali is round and has one drawer. With tapered legs. it also has brass tips on the end of each leg. It is in original condition, It does have some water rings and some scarring shown in pictures. Can be used as is in original condition or be easily restored to pristine if you like. End table is two-level with a dovetailed drawer and round brass handle along with brass on the feet and round brass on the sides. Inside drawer is the brand of Barton Tables. Grand Rapids. Oriental Brass Table- Twin Tiers- Circa 1930's This Art Deco period brass tray table is in decent condition for its age. It has heavy patina on the back of both brass trays. There is patina around all of the sides of the brass and in spots on the carved scenes. The wooden stand is in very good condition. It has some patina on the metal hinges. One of the legs has a missing supporting piece(about a 1 inch long little piece of wood) This piece can use some heavy cleaning. This table would have supported a lamp. This lamp is not included. Pleasingly solid brass trays are supported by a folding base to produce a two tier table. The piece is suitable both for permanent location or as on occasional table. The base is a six leg folding design with dragons head carvings to the upper. Antique Brass, Steel and Marble Table with a Griffin / Ram Design
This is a wonderful antique table made from steel with brass accents and a black marble top. The brass accents include three griffin or ram heads each holding a brass ring. Three paw feet and a center brass support ring. It measures 38 1/2" tall and 18" in diameter. Due to the height of the piece, we believe it was designed as either a plant stand or a plinth for a sculpture. The table is in excellent condition, but the marble top has some marks on the top. Some of the marks look like old water marks and some look like scratches. The table can be picked up from our shop or we can arrange delivery within 100 miles of Philadelphia. Beautiful antique Victorian brass& marble table. Pedestal/ plant stand. Coloration and pattern of the antique marble is gorgeous. Both pieces are free of any cracks or chips, which is unusual for marble this old. The brass is a beautiful buttery gold color and has a lovely shine to it. The lacy designs on the bases that hold the marble pieces are gorgeous accents to offset the marble. The legs are curvy and end with ornate decorative bases for the feet. Vintage Or Antique Iron, Brass & Onyx Table-Art Nouveau?
Offered is this unique and interesting cast iron. Brass and onyx table. It has an Art Nouveau look and appears to be from around 1900. But I do not know for sure. The piece measures approx. 20” from floor to tabletop, which measures 18 1/2” by 14 1/2” The figurine is approx. 10” high. Making the total about 30" The only mark I can find is the number“605” cast into the underside of the base(shown in the last photo) As you might imagine. The table is heavy; approx. 32 lbs! The entire metal part of the table is iron except for the cover pieces of the shaft that connects the base to the top; they are not magnetic and appear to be brass. T he iron portion looks like it was originally painted gold. As you can see from the photos. Much of this gold color remains. The table top and the ball in the center of the shaft are light greenish-beige ... morewith darker striations- looks like onyx to me but maybe some sort of marble? The table comes apart and will be shipped that way. But it is easily reassembled. Even in the much smaller box needed after disassembly this is still very heavy, as noted, and will probably be very expensive to ship. I will ship it either USPS Parcel Select or FedEx. Depending on which is cheaper to your location. We are pleased to offer this exceptionally beautiful and detailed antique(1920s) French Empire, Gueridon style table. The table features solid wood construction with mahogany veneer. The original gilt(ormolu) brass or bronze mounts are abundant. They are fashioned in acanthus or laurel leaf swags around the bottom of the table. The mounts featured on the table skirt section have faces incorporated in their centers. There are also floral medallion mounts for accent. The table top is beautiful and is green malachite marble with interesting veining and a beveled edge. The table has 4 legs. Each leg features an Egyptian character. The faces/busts are bronze or brass as are the feet. Their bodies consist completely of the marble which is a rare find in these tables. The table stretcher connects the legs and features mahogany with a marble centerpiece ... moreand bronze/brass acorn finial. This is a fabulous table with exquisite detail and design. It is in exceptional condition for its age(very early 20th century) As is common with these pieces, there is some minor chipping of the veneer around the base of the table. There is one area of wood on the stretcher that has a small crack which has been resolved at some point and there is a small bubble of the veneer on the table skirt. These issues are resolvable and do not take away or distract from this beautiful table. The marble top has a couple of scratches, again, not major and not distracting. Overall, the table is in very good condition. There are no missing bronze mounts. The table is quite sturdy. There is VERY slight movement in the legs due to the construction. Each leg is doweled into the table top and base. They do not remove. The marble top is also fixed and does not remove. I do not know if this was in the original design or if a previous owner fixed the marble to the table. This is a rare table and a treasured piece. The table measures 29" tall. Antique Indian fold away brass with porcelain inlay. Tea/Coffee table circa 1900. This is a one of a kind truly. The tray top measures near 30" The porcelain inlay is in good shape with some minor cracking and wear showing. The drum is an octagon that folds flat, four layers thick. All but the base which is brass over wood, is solid brass and very heavy, roughly 50lbs. The engraving is spectacular and depicts deities in 35 panels on the tray top and 24 on the drum sides and 8 on the base. The tray top and the base also have larger center panels with engravings. The base is surrounded with engravings of flowers(roses) and the tray top edge has a solid brass ring tacked engraved as if it is a rope. This is a completely untouched, un-refinished original. It could be shined, but my family chose to leave it in it's original state.There ... moreis a stamp on the back of the tray top"1858" My family was told that was the year it was made, but I was unable to substantiate that absolutely. Many years ago, when I was only interested in insuring it, I had several antique dealers in New Jersey and Pennsylvania(Phila to Princeton) look at this and not one had ever seen one of this exact design before, and all of them could only say it was worth at least $5000.00. My family paid nearly $1000.00 for it over 40 years ago as is. There is a slight bend in the one octagonal side hinged seam that has always been there since my family acquired it over 40 years ago. This was brought to my great grandfathers store in Michigan by a person who's family got it in India in or about 1920 as an antique at that time. Inside the carved sections are lavish and intricate medallions which are created using inlaid brass. The tables are old and constructed using flat screws. Because of their handmade design. You will notice that the brass borders are not completely straight in all areas. These were not machine made. They fit together nicely as a group or can be used individually. The smallest table has a single drawer with the inlaid brass present on the drawer face. The tables are heavy and well made. They are in very good antique condition. Two of the ... moretables have a loose section of brass that can be tacked into place. There are no missing brass sections. There are a few, minor, surface nicks that are not severe or distracting. They do add to the aged character of the tables but can be resolved if you so desire. This is an elaborate set of extremely nice construction and beauty. The tables measure as follows in descending order: Table#1 is 20" tall. 19.75" wide and 11.5" deep. Table#2 is 19.5" tall, 17.75" wide and 11" deep. Table#3 is 18.5" tall, 16" wide and 11" deep. The smallest table is 17.75" tall, 14" wide and 10.25" deep. The drawer on this table has an interior measurement of 9.5" wide, 6.75" deep and 1.25" tall. Shipping via UPS with insurance provided.
