BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE LOUIS XV FRENCH SIDE ACCENT TABLE NIGHT STAND CARVED WOOD
We are pleased to offer this extremely beautiful Louis XV style antique side table. This exceptional. Wooden table or night stand features wonderful lines with carved wood accents. The table is two tiered with the top tier being much larger than the bottom. The table top is recessed with a carved wood, raised lip around the borders. It is square but has rounded corners and curved mid sections. The table top has a large, carved clam shell and scroll accent just beneath it on all four sides. The table has nicely carved legs that curve into small scrolls at the top. They angle in toward the bottom tier. Each leg has carved wood acanthus leaves on their lower sections. The feet are very unique as they appear, at first glance, to be claw feet. However, they are actually acanthus leaves that have been carved to look like claw feet. The bottom tier ... moreis small and has squared corners with inverted curves. It has a large, carved wood, lidded urn finial in the center. The table is all wood construction. It has a painted and glazed fiinsh with the soft gold glaze being the predominant color. The carved accents have been finished in a darker gold for contrast. It is quite lovely and very nice. The table is sturdy as well. There are no manufacturer's marks but there is a number stamped under the table top(see picture 11) The table is old and dates to the early part of the 20th century. There is some chipped paint in a just a few areas. This exquisite. Old table is in excellent condition for its age. The table measures 26.5" tall. Standing on traditional escargot feet. The finely shaped and molded frieze rails sweep in to the fine cabriole legs. The parquet top is all good with no significant marks or scratches. We are pleased to offer this EXCEPTIONAL antique to older vintage game/library table. This is an exquisite table of superior construction. The table is solid(no veneer) Rosewood or Mahogany with marquetry(inlaid) accents on the drawer faces. There are superb bronze mounts on the upper cabriole legs. The feet are a bronze. boot" that fits over the wood. The feet have detailed claw pattern with a feathered design above. The table top is leather and features a subtle, tooled medallion in the center and tooled scrolling around the perimeter. There are 4 inlaid wooden cup holders on the top as well. Each side of the table has one functioning drawer and one"faux" drawer, for a total of 4 functioning drawers. The detailing on the drawers is as superb as the balance of the table. They are solid wood with dovetail joints and flat head ... morescrews. They are semi-divided. The drawers have wooden glides(also dovetailed) which mount and slide on the wooden rails inside the table. The table's apron/skirt is beautifully scalloped. This is a truly fabulous table. It dates to the early half of the 20th century, probably in the 1940s. It is in EXTREMELY nice condition with only very minor evidence of age or use. There are only a couple of minor surface scuffs which are neither distracting or severe. The bronze mounts are securely attached and still retain their gilded finish. The table is heavy, sturdy and BEAUTIFUL. There are no manufacturer's marks or stickers, but each drawer is stamped with the number 4. The table measures 30.25" tall and it is 27.75" squared. Intricately carved of the solid, the apron is a complex swirl of foliage with intermingled vines and flowers, flanked by the robust C-scroll carved knees with florals draping amongst scattered acanthus. The legs have a fine cabriole form, tapering softly into the high acanthus ankle and scrolled french toes. We are pleased to offer this beautiful pair of antique to older vintage(1920s) side tables or nightstands. The pair are Mahogany wood with French. Louis XV style. The pair feature a two tiered design with a single drawer on the front. They are exquisitely designed with a curved top and cut back at the drawer sections. The tops have a nice, striped grain pattern. The aprons have carved trim accents. There are 4, square medallions of carved roses and a carved scrolled trim around the entire perimeter of the aprons. There are 4, Empire styled column legs between the upper and lower tiers. Duncan Phyfe legs are present on the bottom of the tables and are finished with gilded iron, claw feet. The tables are finished with a rich, dark stain. The scrolled trim pieces as well as the trim on the drawer faces are a lighter color for contrast. The tables ... moreare not marked. They are constructed with flat screws. They are in very good condition and are sturdy. There is some expected wear in the form of minor nicks and scratches but they are not distracting and can be resolved. The old urethane/lacquer does have some minor crazing in a couple of areas but, again, nothing severe or distracting. The gilded finish on the iron feet does have an aged patina. There is a slight, partial water mark on one table top which is not too noticeable and which can also be resolved. In general, the tables/nightstands are very nice and the pair are quite striking. The tables measure 26.75" tall. The tops are the widest measurements and are 25.75" wide. The tables are 17.75" deep. The drawers have an interior measurement of 12.25" deep. 7.5" wide and 1.5" tall. We are pleased to offer this lovely pair of antique(very early 20th century) side tables or nightstands. The pair feature solid oak bodies and mahogany tops with stunning. Crotch mahogany veneer. The tables feature finely carved details on the perimeter of the tops as well as on the upper sections of the legs. The perimeters have a notched"feathered" carving and the legs feature carved acanthus leaves. Some of the legs have a quarter sawn pattern. The feet are hooved and are pointed at the tips. The mahogany tops are slightly inset. They feature the distinctive, book matched, crotch cut veneer which is accomplished in a 4 section parquetry. The tables have scalloped aprons which are attached to the table tops via old, flat screws. The legs are attached to the tops via dowels. vintage/antique Louis XV French marquetry/inlaid carved walnut end/side table Greater Chicagoland-area local pick up/delivery only(Saint Charles. IL- Far west Chicago suburbs) UP FOR AUCTION: A gorgeous. Vintage-to-antique, Louis XV-style, inlaid, carved walnut end or side table. It is. I think, absolutely stunning. The cabriole legs are ever so gracefully carved, with Art Nouveau curving swags, foliage and overturned bellflowers. The cross-stretchers are carved as well, adorned with a carved finial; the curvy skirt/apron, carved in a shell and floral theme. The inlaid or marquetry serpentine-edge top is exquisite, with a scrolling floral pattern, in different exotic hardwoods-I'm not sure of all the wood species, but it has a wonderful burled border, and I think, mahogany and satinwood. It's unmarked as to maker. I think it's ... morelikely circa early to mid-1900s. I believe it's in original condition. And it has wonderful patina and character. I think the legs and apron/skirt are solid walnut, and the top likely walnut and assorted veneers over a secondary hardwood. It comes with a custom-cut. 3/16"thick, glass top. It's beautiful! CONDITION: Overall. I think it's in very nice vintage condition. Solid and sturdy-the joints seem tight. For it's probable age, it seems to me in wonderful condition. I really don't see much by way of nicks and scratches. The glass top has alot of small nicks or fleabites along the edges and some scratches, but, overall, they all appear very minor, and I don't really see any flaws to the glass unless I'm looking for them. Otherwise. The only flaws I can see are on the top. While overall I think the top is in wonderful condition for its age(that's probably largely attributable to the glass top-I suspect it was used) it does have two flaws: 1) There are slightly raised splits or cracks in the veneer. Primarily in the four center diagonal pieces- I imagine from just age/changes in humidity- but they follow the grain of the veneer, and I personal

It mesures 9 1/2" deep by 15" wide by 29" to the top of the ormalu gallery. The blind draw has solid quartered oak. Secondary ... morewood with hand dovetailing and small cut nails holding the bottom in place. All of the fine parquetry inlay is original and the only problems are on the top. In one close-up photograph you will see several old restorations and a slightly darker section near the middle, all accented with arrows. There also is a small piece of veneer missing from the back and a very old strong repair to one leg. This repair is on the back of the leg and does not show from the front. There are no other problems and this antique French Occasional Table retains its original warm finish.
