It is a sort of canyon red color with gold painted accents and trim. The paint has a rustic finish giving the desk plenty of charm and character. There are two drawers that open and close easily and are constructed with dovetailed joints. From the floor to the bottom of the desk ... moremeasures 24" Which is pretty standard and should fit most chairs. This writing desk is quite sturdy and in overall very good condition. There are two cosmetic age splits on the back corners(see pictures) These are a naturally occurring phenomenon that do not affect the structural integrity of the desk. The four tapered legs of the desk are beautifully decorated and end in brass casters. This desk has plenty of rustic charm and would make a lovely addition to any home or office. The two drawers open and close very easily. Looks great from the side! Both drawers are constructed with dovetailed joints. There are two brass pulls on each drawer. INCREDIBLE TABLE WITH EXTRAORDINARY CARVED DETAIL! We are pleased to offer this antique. Wood console/entry table. This stunning old table features intricate carved designs with strong French or Italian influences. The table has graceful lines and curves. The table has been painted white(somewhat distressed"whitewashed" finish) with gold gilt accenting on the table rim and on the carved features. The carvings are numerous with acanthus leaves and shell pattern on the front apron of the table with an open/pierced carved design. The back legs have large acanthus leaf accents. The feet have a carved"talon and ball" or claw and ball design. The two front legs feature exquisitely carved birds, one on each upper leg. The birds have wonderful detail with cross hatched feathers and intricate eyes and beaks. STUNNING! The bottom ... morestretcher features a center acanthus leaf shell with an incised cross. The table is in very good condition with some signs of use. It is quite sturdy(but not terribly heavy) and does not wobble. There is some chipped paint on the top as well as some condensation marks from glasses being placed on the top with no coasters. These are not terribly distracting and are somewhat faint in nature. The table top could be painted quite easily to match the existing white color if you do not care for the"character marks" This is a beautiful table with exceptional detailing. There are no manufacturer's marks. The table is generously sized and measures 40" wide at the widest point and is 17.5" deep(front to back) at the deepest. Shipping via Greyhound. ANTIQUE HAND PAINTED FRENCH LADY SHEEP VERNIS MARTIN STACKING NESTING TABLE SET
This is an old early 1900s I think but may be older set of 3 stacking tables from an estate. All together they are 27" tall and top table is 18 1/2" by 14 1/2" The top has a hand painted scene of a shepard and his sheep. The top table has seen the most use and could be made more beautiful by a person who has furniture knowledge. It has numerous dark spots that furniture polish did not effect and a 3" and 1" scratch and other smaller scuff marks. These dark spots may of been caused by heat as a guesse on my part as I really do not know. An artist could touch up the scratches. The top is in used as is condition. The center table is 16" by 13" and has a French lady in a pastorial setting with house in background. It has a 1/2" possible burn hole? It has normal vintage wear. The next table is 14" by ... more11 1/4" and features a dancing French young man. It has a top left corner chip and two small dark spots on left edge. It has normal wear. The rail that goes horizontal on the base to hold the tables in place has a 7/8" long scrape to the wood. See photo. This set has been used but still displays nicely. I loved them enough to buy them. Antique Buttermilk White Painted Side Table 3 Leg Shabby. Distressed There seems to be quite a heavy interest in these minimally restored pieces of furniture so I am going to list a couple of them to see if that interest extends beyond this area. These pieces are cleaned. Lightly sanded to allow paint chips to show through, no cracks or splits are filled. The pieces are tightened and reglued if necessary to make sure they are sturdy. Each piece is then painted with Killz sometimes tinted so that you may paint over them with any color of latex or oil based paint you desire without priming. They will be listed for the same price that the local antique stores purchase them from me plus the ammount that Ebay charges, that is about 1/4 to 1/3 of what the stores charge for the same piece. Antique White Painted Side Table 4 Leg Shabby. Distressed There seems to be quite a heavy interest in these minimally restored pieces of furniture so I am going to list a couple of them to see if that interest extends beyond this area. These pieces are cleaned. Lightly sanded to allow paint chips to show through, no cracks or splits are filled. The pieces are tightened and reglued if necessary to make sure they are sturdy. Each piece is then painted with Killz sometimes tinted so that you may paint over them with any color of latex or oil based paint you desire without priming. They will be listed for the same price that the local antique stores purchase them from me plus the ammount that Ebay charges, that is about 1/4 to 1/3 of what the stores charge for the same piece. This is a very nice hand painted solid mahogany 10 seater dining table with 3 extra leafs to the center. It sits on two pedestals with queen anne legs. I would say it has been later painted to look like a french dining table. But looks great. The measurements are 56 long and 42 wide. It is wood and painted black with gold offset color. RARE ANTIQUE GRAND 40" ITALIAN DECO ROSEWOOD BRONZE MARQUETRY HAND PAINTED TABLE
We are pleased to offer this EXCEPTIONAL AND RARE DESIGN. Antique(early 20th century) Italian Marquetry entry, library, console table. This is a GRAND table, both in scale as well as detail. The table is Rosewood veneer with inlay(marquetry) designs. The table has been completely hand painted(original) in a fabulous flower and drapery pattern. The floral theme is continued in the design of the table base. The base features a very rare, Art Deco, flower petal form stretcher which is incorporated beautifully into the table design. Each of the 6 petals attaches to each of the table's legs. There are intricate bronze feet which rest on the stretcher. The legs are separated with fabulous arches. The arches are accented with bronze trim. There are also large bronze decorative mounts on the table apron, in between the legs and arches. The painted ... moredetails are superb. The flowers are quite unique with a"ringed" accent detail on each bulb. This is an incredibly beautiful and unique table. It is not marked but it is quite special. It is large and heavy. It is in very good condition with minor signs of age/use. As is quite common with these pieces, there are areas of"bubbling" to the veneer but all of the veneer is intact. The bronze is completely intact with no missing pieces. There are some"gaps" if you will, around the table top where the bronze trim is located. This means that, although still attached, you can see a space between the trim and the table top in a few areas. This is neither severe nor distracting. You can also see the sections where the table base comes together. The high gloss finish does have surface scratches and some pitted areas on the table top. These are visible in direct light, and not noticeable unless in direct light. In general, this is a fabulous table in VERY GOOD condition. This is a one of a kind design. It is truly beautiful. Rosettes, acorn finial, etc. Good vintage condition overall with some scuffs/scrapes, a few chips and a few age cracks around top area. Marble top has some scrapes/scratches but no breaks or chips. Measures approximately 15-1/2 inches across and 24 inches high to top of marble. Table is 23 inches high with marble top removed.
