Item# 120011RYI24 ... moreThis listing is for a remarkable and very fine Sheraton Pembroke table of the Federal Period. Crafted in New York during the first quarter of the 19th Century. It is a magnificent work, using the most incredible solid mahogany boards available for the overall presentation. Each leaf is a very broad single plank of full grained glowing mahogany, the middle most board a full 21 1/4" across the grain; each was flawlessly planed by hand until the surface was perfectly smooth, at which point a french polish was applied. This is a labor intensive and difficult finish to apply, layer after countless layer of shellac being rubbed into the surface by hand, but when done properly the result is breathtaking. The surface absolutely shimmers, the deep reds of the mahogany glowing through with utter brilliance. The leaves are notched and rounded. Giving an overall"cloud" form to each hanging surface, these lifting over hand forged iron hinges with entirely original screws. The top projects just slightly over the front, lining up perfectly along the sides such that the leaves rest squarely against the frame when in dropped form. One side of the table has a faux drawer with cockbead molding around it. The other side has a very deep drawer without cockbead molding, both having bold original polished brass stamped handles. Inside of the drawer. A white label is affixed on the left side from a dealer who once carried the table"Edwin C. Ahlberg, Antique Furniture, New Haven, Conn" The drawer is hand dovetailed at the back, nailed at the front, chamfered on the thick bottom along the sides to rabbet into the drawer frame and is nailed at the back of the drawer with a modern nail. Antique 1940's-50's American bank shuffleboard table
Up for auction is my father's 1940's era 12' American Standard bank shuffleboard table. It was given to him in the 80's and has been well- kept in the basement of their house ever since. He passed away a year ago. And my mother is wanting to clean house and this table takes up a lot of room! This is a great restoration/conversation piece! A local woodworker has seen it and was drooling over the chance to refinish it. The table has seen its share of play, but is in really good shape still. There are a few small missing trim pieces, but can easily be found or made. The top is made of real butcher block, not the way cheap modern tables are made of. Part of the butcher top has split a little on one end, but can be repaired. It needs some refinishing yes, but for someone not all that serious about playing, it can be played on as-is. ... moreI played a little just after taking pics. Here is a special opportunity to own a really fabulous early twentieth century American walnut dining table that has a wonderful story and has been in my family since 1979. My husband. Then"my boyfriend" was working construction for a contractor on Long Island for the summer during college that year and when the two of them dug this old table out of a basement there in Rockville Centre, he was lucky enough to have the opportunity to buy it from the owner. He later paid to have it professionally cleaned up including having the top refinished and having a custom table pad made to protect the top as well. For the next 35 years we used this table as our formal family dining table, the centerpiece when celebrating holidays and special events with our three children and many friends over the years. Now we are ready to let it go, and it ... moreis ready to make a statement and add to the memories in your home or place of business today. The refinished top is gorgeous and shows off the beautiful walnut wood grains which I attempt to show in my series of photographs. The heavy carved edging and the large turned legs on a split base with bun feet really make for a striking presentation. The table pads are well used and a bit tattered at their edges but certainly are a great asset for use under a table cloth to protect the top. As I show on the underside of the table. The mechanism shows this table is designed to spread to a much longer length, perhaps 10-12 feet, if someone were to have leaves remade. This terrific table measures 60 inches long by 45 inches wide. The table stands 30 inches tall. In addition to making a great dining table. This wonderful old walnut table would also work well as a library or study table for home use or perhaps a law office or other professional work environment. This is a beautiful antique coffee table made of American quartersawn oak. This is a very substantial and sturdy table. It measures 48 inches long. 30 inches wide and 20 inches tall. The table has column-style legs which measure 15 inches in circumference. Each corner has a leaf carving inset in a band on both sides of the corner. There is also a 28 inch drawer. The only damage is a water ring on the top, which I have tried to show in the last photo. Otherwise it is in very good condition. It is a gorgeous table! X 19 1/2" wide(closed) x 27 1/2" tall and has 1 working drawer with wood knob and 1 faux drawer with matching pull. The leaves measure 10" making the table 39 1/2 wide when leaves are extended. It is in excellent condition except for missing 2 of the trim pieces under the rim of the table. I had this piece in my house for years and never even noticed they were missing. Depending on how you place the table you will not notice they are gone. The table measures 24 1/2 inches wide and 17 inches deep and it stands 27 1/2 inches tall. Antique American Walnut Tea Cart Trolley, Georgian Style
For Local Pickup Only. This is an old tea cart. Made of solid walnut(it could also be mahogany, but it looks like walnut to me) I do not see any veneered sections- even the lowermost shelf board appears to be a solid piece of walnut, and a thick one at that. It has two drop leaves and fairly delicated wood turnings for the legs. The rubber wheel bands are solid, albeit with some minor cracking. Finish on the surfaces is very good, with only some minor scratches and what appears to be a bit of sun fade where the top may have had a cloth runner on it(see images) Spoked wheels easily remove via the mechanism on the bottom. Vintage Antique Solid Oak Wood Coffee Table American Country Arts & Crafts
This is a beautiful table I love how the Legs were crafted showing off a beautiful pattern of the wood The top does have some minor nicks and stains I do not know the maker- it does have a stamped number 805 underneath There are no nails or screws connecting each leg to the bottom of the table it is a slot groove(I don't know the actual term for this) I removed one leg and this leg does have a minor split on the edge(shown in last photo) this had happened sometime in the past. This table is sturdy I will be removing the legs when shipping& will mark each leg& slot with a pencil where they originally belong. Antique Early American mahogany top Queen Anne style Lamp / Accent /Buffet Table
This is a beautiful and elegant antique Early American Queen Anne style Lamp or Accent Table. It has a mahogany top and is solid wood throughout. But I’m not sure of the type– probably cherry or maple. The table is very well built. And not loose or shaky at all. I suspect that it may have originally been a longer table. Possibly a buffet style, and that it has been cut down or shortened in length, and this explains the seam in the middle and the support panel underneath. The current size of the top of the table(28” x 18” is actually quite nice for a variety of uses and we have included a couple of pictures with appointments to illustrate this. The table is 30” tall and weighs 18 lbs. Although currently the seam in the middle is obvious. It is very well-fitted and some light refinish work to the top could greatly improve that seam.
