This is a wonderful pair of antique cast iron Eastlake style shelf brackets! They measure a touch over 7" by 5" They date from around the 1870-80's. They are in as-found contdition and have green and are a little rusty. I have not tried to clean them at all. The condition is very good. They are 8” x 6” brackets.although one has an end of the longer length broken off so that one is 6 ½” instead of the full 8” The broken end will not affect its effectiveness to hold up a shelf.will still work very well and once up and in place. The missing end is not very noticeable. That one has old black paint.the whole one has rusted down.not pitted at all.just brown. They have no cracks and slight signs of use and age. There is a little paint loss to the black enamel and some minor surface rust as shown in the pictures. Her we have a 2 nice seest of ANTIQUE VINTAGE ORNATE 2 CAST IRON WALL SHELF SHELVES BRACKETS. I would rate them to be on a(8+/9) used vintage shape. The brackets measure 9 1/2" tall x 7 1/2 across the top. They have an ornate curl on the end where the shelf would rest. I would say a 6" deep shelf would be placed in the area. Each side of the shelf brackets have 4 holes for mounting to the wall and 4 holes to mount the wood shelf you provide. These were commonly used at the turn of the century and seen in Grocery Stores. This is an exceptionally fine pair of iron or steel sink brackets. The nicest I have seen. They are finely made with art deco or nouveau styling measuring 8"x16" they have mounting holes on one side. One bracket has had the paint removed but the fine detailing has been preserved. The small mounting studs along the edge were removed as well. Vintage cast iron shelf brackets. 8 pieces. These mount to a pipe or wooden pole(vertical element) You then could use wooden shelves with some pieces of half round glued to the bottom to keep them in place. You could run a piece of pipe or round wood in the two depressions and use glass on top of that for the shelves. Or these could be used in a green house to hold water pipes with spray heads to water the beds of plants under them. They stick out 11 1/2 inches from the pipe. The two half moon cut outs are 7 inches center to center. they are 4 1/2 inches tall. Or use them to hang plants. Glad to answer any questions about this item.

You have the opportunity to own a pair of old cast iron shel f brack ets. The only cleaning that I have done is try to brush off the loose dirt and cobwebs. As I was doing that some of the old wh ite paint fell off and while I handled them to take pictures more of the paint flaked off. So be assure d that if you purch ase them there will be some paint chips in the shipping bo x. There are no repai rs or cracks. Just a lot of character. They are both marked H8. There is still plenty of rust on them. The part that would fit up against a wall is 18-1/2" and the part that would support a shelf board is about 10-1/2" I left some of the hardware on each and did not try to remove the bolts.
