Today I will be listing 2 very unique victorian era hooks. Both will have BIN's and if you win both you can save BIG on combined shipping! So up first is this antique victorian era cast iron chandelier/ceiling hook with matching rosette/bracket/plate. The entire hook measures about 5 3/8" long and the hook section itself is about 2 9/16" long. The rosette/plate is about 2 7/16" in diameter at the diagnol. Both parts are in excellent shape with some typical light wear and oxidation. As pictured. I see no damage so this hook is ready to mount. There is a sligth bend in the screw section that you can sort of see in the last picture but this will have no functional or structural effect. 3 ANTIQUE CAST IRON WALL BRACKETS/ COAT& HAT HANGERS. ORNATE& OLD! Three nice. Old cast iron brackets. It looks like they could be coat and hat hangers. All the patina/rust is light surface rust, nothing pitting. These could easily be painted to fit any decor. They would extend about 6" from the wall, the smaller hook is about 2 1/2" from the wall.They do show lots of age, one small hanger is bent outward at a small angle. There was wire wrapped around some of the brackets and when I removed the wire, I scrapped off the'age patina' and left a few small shiny scratches. This little latch exhibits great signs of sand cast iron construction dating from the earlier part of the century. The piece was then finished with a series of cross hatched designs. If I'm not mistaken there is an out of print book discussing French, Dutch and Germanic ironware of the 14th-18th centuries, and I believe there is an example to this referenced therein. Latches such as these were used on cupboards and doors. The one end being fastened to an entranceway or side of cupboard, the latch swinging freely to catch a nail opposite to it. This is an antique cast iron wheel and swivel bracket from an old factory cart. The wheel spins and swivels without problems. The wheel is 6 3/4 inches in diameter with a 1 1/2 inch tread. It is marked JTT 3. The overall length of the whole assembly is about 15 inches. The bracket is about 5 1/4 inches long. This old wheel has a 1/2 inch long chip in the edge of the wheel that extends about 1/4 inch into the tread. Since the tread is 1 1/2 inches thick the chip should not be a problem that prevents its display or use. There is some smaller and shallower edge roughness that we mention just to be complete. But the overall look is very cool. This piece will make your project look great. It would also be nice as part of a wall display of factory parts and wheels. Antique Lovely Ornate Victorian Plant Oil Lamp Lantern Bird Cage Wall Hanger
Up for auction is a lovely and sturdy Victorian Era metal wall hanger. These lovely old hangers were used to hang plants. Lanterns or oil lamps, or bird cages. There are no maker's marks or dates on this piece. It is a sturdy hanger and the arm is attached solidly attached to the backplate. This is a fixed arm hanger and it does not swivel. The design is very elegant featuring a scroll and fern-like design on either side of a center column. The backplate measures 5 3/4" high and is 3 1/4" across at the widest point. The hanger arm extends approximately 9 1/2" from the backplate and 9 3/4" from the wall when hung. The hanger is in very good antique condition with a lovely red/orange patina in the design. There is one vary small ding in"column" on the right side of the backplate. You can see this in the close-up ... morephotos.
