Very nice Henredon dresser with mirror. Chest/highboy, and 2 night stands. I'm not an expert on this furniture; it was purchased from an estate sale. However, I believe it was made in the 1960's and there is no collection name listed on the furniture, but it does have the number 598 stamped on the back of the dresser, 2801 on the back of the mirror, and 2800 on the backs of the night stands. This dresser is in amazing condition for it's age! Has 6 full sized drawers along the sides and 3 half sized drawers right down the middle. The pulls are made from the same wood and are vertical/parallel- they hide where one drawer ends and the next one begins. The finish is in great condition. There is some wear consistent with age but overall these are ready for use. Very rarely do you come across this specific line of furniture from the 60's. This is a SUPER NICE walnut five drawer chest made by Henredon. Circa'60 fine furniture. My pictures do not do this piece justice because it is absolutely beautiful! The handles have copper toned trim. I don't know the exact age. This is a rare piece to find in this condition. The top has two strips inlayed one on each side. The stenciled number"8500" appears on the back of both, indicating they are a matching set. Fantastic mid-century modern design with unique drawer pulls. CONDITION Dresser and mirror in overall very good condition. Both would benefit from being refinished(see photos of some overall finish loss and minor wear) Otherwise structurally ... moreexcellent condition with no permanent looking stains or major wear. Drawer interiors are all clean and move easily. When these were purchased, hardware had been attached to the back of the dresser and mirror, allowing the mirror to be be mounted on back of the dresser though the mirror was originally designed to hang on the wall. Because hardware was not original, it's been removed from both. The original wall hangers on the mirror were removed by previous owners presumably when they decided to mount mirror to dresser. You can see holes on the back where the added hardware was removed, none of this affects how either display from the front. The backing on the mirror is warped on one end. It doesn't affect how it displays from the front. The dresser has concealed casters. One of which is missing a couple mounting screws and has a bend to the bracket. The dresser can still be moved with casters but will function better with this one caster issue fixed first. With professional refinishing, the dresser and mirror would look new! Modern but classic look in oak with polished brass hardware. Part of Henredon's"Artefacts" collection circa 1980. The collection features angular reinterpretations of the staid British campaigner chests of the nineteenth century. The dressers has beautiful inset polished brass handles. Distressed oak veneers, and dovetailed drawers inside- part of Henredon Fine Furniture's quality American workmanship. This petite dresser offers a lot of storage without taking up much space. It is workable in an entryway. Hall, living room, bedroom, or small dining area. It measures 26" wide by 19" deep by 30 1/2" tall. The original dark brown finish on these pieces was called"Savoy" The pieces are obviously preowned and as seen in the photos have been painted white as is the hardware.OUCH!
