Ornate floral net lace covers the top with jet black beaded adornments. The lace hangs about 4" off the lip with scalloped edges. The underneath is black silk taffeta. The handle is made of bamboo the curls in shape at the handle. Beautiful. Hand done piece. In great antique condition. Opens and closes nicely. The structure has held up. Description: A 19th Century East Midlands turned bone lace bobbin with spangle of antique glass beads. It is decorated in a spiral with brass wire and small turquise glass beads and gold coloured faceted beads. Condition: The top of the head has a chip. The tail is intact. I have restored the brass wire and antique beads on this bobbin as authentically as possible. Length: 3.5 inches excluding spangle.

Listed for auction is a vintage African necklace which is cord-strung with round. Bicone, hairpipe and donut bovine cow bone beads. The bicone spacer beads are dyed black. The donut beads are dyed reddish purple. The necklace has a hook and eye closure. The donut beads measure 20mm in diameter. The largest round bead measures 15mm in diameter; the smallest 5mm. The hairpipe beads measure 25mm in length. The wearable length of the necklace is 11 1/2" The necklace weighs 79 grams. Many of the beads have natural surface imperfections. There also is surface wear to the beads consistent with age and normal use. It is my practice to combine shipping on multiple items. Vintage tribal lot of 4 pieces of jewelry. Included are an 8" diameter necklace completely comprised of glass& bronze beads with a hand cast bronze pendant of a face; a 9" beaded choker(total length of 24" of primarily hand carved buffalo or cow bone beads with plated bronze& leather& a hand cut stone cabochon in a plated bronze setting; 2 hair pins. A 4 1/2" example carved entirely from bone, and a 6 1/4" wooden example with bronze and bone? I'm not sure of the origin of these pieces, but they were acquired with a large lot of tribal estate jewelry that contained many African animal tooth pendants, hence the feeling it's all from Africa.
