This is a Classic style EVENING Necklace using Antique Beads(1920~30's) I HAVE RE-STRU NG AND REMOVED THE FADED BEADS! I added the RHINESTONES. It is a good long length at 20 1/4" won't choke) All the beads are good with no cracks( the clasp has a bit of chipped end ~ but. Does not effect look or working) I think it si TRUE JET(coal) The beads are very light(not heavy like glass) The largest is 7/8" long by 5/8" wide. There are 53 beads and the clasp(like 2 = 55) The color is a RICH DARK Black Jet. It is the shape and cut of the Cherry Amber ones. Hello. thanks for viewing this antique 1920's Art Deco 26" Bakelite necklace with barrel clasp in pristine condition. All the 122 disk-shaped beads are matte black. The 44 larger rounded disks measure one inch each in diameter(across) with 9 mid-sized disks at 3/4" diameter. And 24 smallest'button'like(thicker) disks at 3/8" each diameter. It has 15 spacers of 1/8" each. There are 4 round reddish deep brown beads separating each necklace section, matching the two major focal points in the overall design. One being the large round ball- and the other an extra large, elongated, angular wedge-shaped centerpiece(7" long) both of which have inlaid mosaic rectangles of rich dark multi-colored abalone shell. Altogether this necklace supports 134 beads. And though it's a massive piece, weighs only about 4-1/2 ... moreounces. This will ship boxed with safely secured packaging. It is well made and actually weighs close to 12 ounces. The purse is on the larger size. Measurement for the body of the purse(handle length not included) are 9 1/2" long and 8 1/2" wide. It comes with the original mirror that has a deteriorating silk backing, which is the same trim used on the inner seam area between the beads and the handle. Some of this trim is worn as well. It is 5 1/4" across the top and bottom put"puffs out" although it is a hard form) to about 6" including the lovely beaded folds around the bag. It is 5" high and 4 1/4" deep- so an ample evening bag. For Auction I have a large Vintage French Beaded Deco Purse with a Bakelite Frame from the early 1900's. The Purse is 6 3/4" wide and 9 3/4" long to the top of the plunger clasp. It is approximately 15" overall with the strap. The purse is lined with a black silk liner and has ruffled edging to finish it. The lawn of this purse is done in a Cocoa Brown as well as the strap. The design on this purse is"Art Deco" and made out of Coral. Salmon, Hunter Green, Slate Blue, Periwinkle and Yellow Seed Beads. The pattern is on both sides of the Purse and it is outlined with Jet Beads. The clasp and hinges are in fine working order even though the plunger sits a little crooked. The purse is considered to be in very good condition. It could use a little TLC as the silk lining behind the strap is missing.
