The necklace consists of carved iridescent Mother of Pearl flowers with 4 gold tone discs and a gemstone in between each flower. They are all linked together with gold tone wire. There is a hook at the end for a closure. With a gold beaded flower on the end. There is a hang tag on that end that says"Miriam Haskell" There is one gold bead missing from the flower on the hook. VINTAGE 2-STRAND MOTHER OF PEARL BEADED NECKLACE+MOP CAMEO WITH 2 CLASPS~UNIQUE Description I have quite a few interesting handmade vintage beaded necklaces this week. With semi-precious gemstones, like this one. This is a double-strand necklace with a large mother-of-pearl cameo which functions as the decorative clasp. The necklace actually hooks into the cameo from both sides. And the cameo can be removed to be worn as a brooch. I had never seen mother-of-pearl beads. But my jeweler tells me that is what these are. These beads are very shimmery, and some of them have an almost two-tone white-on-white appearance, with varying degrees of opaque-ness and transparency, some with almost a"cat's eye" quality. see photos) Whatever they are, they are truly beautiful, and the necklace is all hand-knotted. The cameo is light MOP on ... moredark MOP background. The frame is heavy and ornate. And appears to be a gold plate or gold fill-it does not test positive for karat gold. She looks more like an antique cameo than modern, with the pointed nose and chin as you might see in a Victorian piece. I have shown this in a lot of photos. If I were wearing it. I'd wear the cameo off to one side, so she would be vertical, but you can put the clasp in the back or in the front center, whichever you choose. All in all, it's a unique vintage necklace. The beads are in the 8.5- 9.5 mm size range. The clasp. As you can see, has two areas that fit into the cameo and the pin on the back so it can be removed and worn as a brooch. I see no hallmarks on this piece. This necklace is about 21" long not including the cameo. The cameo measures 1 3/8" by 1" It weighs 116 grams and is in excellent vintage condition. This magnificent vintage evening bags is signed La Regale beaded bag was made in Japan with Italian beads( indicated on the tag) in very good +++ vintage condition. The front of the purse has a beautiful floral pattern in light blues. Yellows and pinks on an off white or ivory colored beaded background with a mother of pearl detail on the front of the bag on the frame. The back of the bag is solid beading in the off white. The little center clasp is even beaded, There is so much detail, this is a must see, must own! Bag measures 7 X 7 inches, has strap drop of just under 5 inches, not very deep, and is a small evening bag, but as small bags go this one holds a lot. The designer tag is inside next to the little pouch as pictured. Inside in very clean, although I see a faint line spot of light red, perhaps a lipstick mark. The exterior is also ... morevery clean, I see one hint of the spot on the back, see picture, no issues on the front. Mother of Pearl, beaded clasp, and purse frame are all is great working and looking condition. It's lined in gold satin with 2 pockets and in excellent condition.
