It has a flying leaf capped scroll handle and it stands on 3 shell capped paw feet. It has a wide squared off rim and is made from a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks. 1836 PCGS VF25 Capped Bust half dollar ~ Beaded Reverse Border O-106(B) R.4! bx13.155) This is the rare. Late die state of one of our all-time favorite varieties in the series, the Beaded Reverse Border, experimental design type. Interestingly, Overton assigns just two official states, O-106 and O-106A, but also breaks O-106A into two separate states, without assigning a separate O-106B designation. This is the very tough third die state, with a long, crisp die break extends from rim below second arrow head, across two arrow heads, through wing, and across field above eagle, finally disappearing into banner. A second crack from rim above last A in America enters right-facing wing. Very original with bursts of soft iridescent color over extensive, shimmering, underlying mint luster. A reverse more nearly XF than VF. Gorgeous quality! The Overton ... more106. Beaded reverse border, variety is one of our favorites in the series, as it signifies a unique experimental design change, though it has not been given much attention(Overton himself never mentioned the beaded border) The Redbook has listed it for many years. 1836 was a transitional year for the half dollar; the Mint switched over half dollar production to steam power and began striking halves in a close collar. The Capped Bust design was reworked to accommodate the change in planchet size and thickness. And the traditional dentil rim was replaced with a raised rim and beaded border. However. The Overton 106 die marriage employed this new Beaded Border but was struck in an open collar. It was clearly an experimental design change made to test the new beading pattern. In fact, this was the only time a Beaded Border was used on an open collar half dollar, and for good reason. Metal simply will not flow evenly into a beaded border without the aid of a close collar to make the coin perfectly round and force metal upward into the rims, instead of letting it squeeze outward. The beading on O-106 stretched and became distorted, and the beaded is usually found incomplete

The Capped Bust design was reworked to accommodate the change in planchet size and thickness. And the traditional dentil rim was replaced with a raised rim and beaded border. However. The Overton 106 die marriage employed this new Beaded Border with an open collar and the old design style. It was clearly an experimental change made to test the new beading pattern before the changes were implemented. In fact, this was the only time a Beaded Border was used on an open collar half dollar, and for good reason. Metal simply will not flow evenly into a beaded border without the aid of a close collar to make the coin perfectly round and force metal upward into the rims, instead of letting it squeeze outward. The beading on O-106 stretched and became distorted, and the beads are almost always found incomplete or distorted. Five 5 Decade Rosary Gold Plated Filigree Capped Glass Crystal Beaded Antique
This old rosary.Possibly Victorian, is so beautiful. Feels wonderful to the touch and has a nice weight to it. Each bead measures 3/8 of an inch. The entire rosary measures 21 1/2 inch. The centerpiece has a profile of Jesus with a halo surrounding his head. The reverse side has Madonna and Child. The Corpus and the Crucifix seem to be in great shape. Although the gold tone has worn off. If you have any questions. Please feel free to ask. I am not Catholic and I am sure there is something important I forgot to mention.

Photo#4 shows the"adopted edge" as is illustrated in the Redbook. And, photo#5 shows an enlargement of the beaded border on the reverse. OBVERSE; The rim& denticles are in good shape. However there is some wear at the bottom left. The stars& date are in great shape. Facial features, including ear, are about 60% defined. Her cap w/ Liberty band are about 70% There is however, some wear on the"T" in Liberty. Hair& cloak are about 50% or less. There are scratches on Miss Liberty's chest. REVERSE; Rim is great. The Beaded border is very nice. Except for some wear at the bottom. All lettering is in good shape, except the"IB" in Pluribus, and the top of the 5 in 50 cents. The shield is about 70% defined. A scarce variety in general, but very rare in this condition.
