19thC VICTORIAN Ladies Black BEADED MUFF CHAIN w/ 14K CAP- Beadwork is 79" LONG
Offered is a luxuriously lengthy beadwork muff chain from the late 19th Century aka the late Victorian Era. This beadwork necklace is finished with a hand-worked. Rose gold hued, double-barrel cap. This cap tests as 14k gold but bears no mark for maker or metal content. The cap terminates in a rose gold ring that measures approximately 4.8mm across. The cap features linear hand engraving, and measures approximately 16mm wide, 8mm deep and 16mm long including the aforementioned ring. Each barrel of this cap accommodates the 2 ends of a beadwork chain. This chain is made from relatively uniform, small, jet black glass beads; some beads appear to have one more cut facets that add distinct sparkle, and this can be seen in all photos for this auction. There are no missing beads, holes, exposed threads or other damage, so this beadwork chain moves ... morewith complete flexibility and fluidity, and this necklace hangs straight when worn. Halved the beadwork alone measures approximately 39.5, so this necklace would measure 79 inches if it could be opened, and longer when considering the length of the cap. Please note that the ruler in the 3rd photo is 18 inches long, and the beadwork folded to quarters is longer than this ruler. The beadwork is fashioned in round form measuring approximately 7mm in diameter. Originally this piece probably had a clasp off of the cap which would be used to attach the beadwork chain to a muff in order to secure it. Antique Beaded Chain for Crystal chandelier. With 15mm Beads, 20” long Strands Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Antique Crystal Chandelier Prisms& Parts We were lucky to find this cache of crystal chandelier parts. Containing the prisms of at least three different chandeliers. The pieces vary in condition and era, but they all appear to be leaded crystal, hand cut. The oldest crystals in the lot have black metal wire fasteners, with nail heads. Many of these particular crystals look old enough to be true antiques, 100 years old or more. These prisms, the spear points particularly, appear to have suffered a traumatic injury, i.e. we think the chandelier smashed to the floor. We culled the broken ones out of the lot, but there are still bits of broken spears attached to some connectors. These old ones have marks of age, nicks, ... morebroken points, which is to be expected considering their past history. On the other hand. The rest of the prisms are in very good condition(no trauma) They bear brass or other metal nail head fasteners, and coiled wire fasteners. All of these prisms put on quite a light show, aurora borealis-style, and filled the room with light and rainbow reflections. We have no marks. This is a fun vintage chain belt from the 1980s. The main part of the belt is made up of 5 large O-rings that have wooden beads on them. The beads are colored brown. Teal green, and purple, and there are little metal o-rings between the beads. The beaded pieces are connected by smaller rings that have a twisted rope like look to them. There is a chain extender in the back, and the belt closes with a hook that can attach to any of the links in the chain. At the end of the chain, there is also a small beaded charm. The belt measures 17.5 inches from the tip of the hook to the first link in the chain extender. And it measures 39 inches from the tip of the hook to the last link in the chain extender(this length does not include the charm at the end) The belt is 1.5 inches wide at its widest point. All the beads are saphiret and anywhere from 6-7mm wide in certain areas as not all the beads are exactly the same size The necklace measures 16 1/2" long and it weighs 16.9 grams and the clasp does not work None of the stones are chipped or cracked and other than what can be seen in the picture. Vintage Jet Black Glass Beaded Necklace with Tassel 18" chain
This is a beautiful antique jet black beaded necklace with a 3/4" diameter half circle at the base. With three"tails" There is much detail in the chain portion itself, with beads being both faceted and smooth, intertwined and solo. The overall length of the chain is 18" The"tassel" portion at the end is about 2" long. Each bead is glass, and I believe it is from the 1920's. Very lovely and quite versatile!
