A very nice collectible Vintage Sheffield Pickle Double Caster Silver Plate. It is missing the fork. Overall it is in excellent condition. The caster s are genuine crystal. It is 6 1/2"across and 9 1/4" tall and about 3 1/2" wide. There are no chips or cracks. It still has tags as well as stickers on crystal casters so not sure if it was ever used.

Estimate of the date for this tray is about 1915 to 1920 based on the design elements and the general products for this company at that time. Measuring 10" across. It rises only enough for an easy grasp of the edge. Lifting gracefully from the inner edge with sleek lines that pass through an implied rim by the circle of an organic based raised motif with an accenting geometric pierced element, we believe this is a transitional design piece from Art Nouveau to Art Deco. Beautiful Viners of Sheffield Silver Plate 13" Tray. It was found in a Boston area estate and is in very nice vintage condition. It has an amazing design and exquisite detail. It does have some tarnish and light scratches. As would be expected with its age. The tray comes in the original paper that it came wrapped in when it came from Viners of Sheffield England. The bottom of the tray is stamped with a crown that says"Corporate Mark" above it and"Alpha" below it. A silversmith active in Sheffield from c. 1750 to 1775. He was one of the only two firms combining the trades of cutlers and general silversmiths. The business was continued by his sons John and William. And later by Joseph Law(probably the son of John, as in an 1830 directory he is quoted as"Joseph Law, late John Law& Son" In 1824 was entered the mark of Jos. Law.
