This is a map of New York from the limited printing of the 1947 post-war edition of the World Book Encyclopedia. It Is really a pretty map; the colors are bright. The printing is crisp, and it is in great condition. This map is a 2-page spread disbound from the encyclopedia. It was tipped in using a separate little tongue of paper, so the map itself was not cut as it was removed. There is a crease down the center where it was folded in the book. The map was a little too big to fit on my scanner, so not all of it is shown in the scan. It has a white border all the way around it. The map is 9 1/2 inches by 13 1/2 inches. The altitude is color-coded, from green for the lowest altitude through yellow and orange to red for the highest altitude. I don't know much about maps, so I don't know how this one was made. It has an old-fashioned ... morelithographed look to it, but I think I can see dots when I look at it through a magnifying glass. On the back of the map New York towns are listed with their location and population(circa 1947) This is such a nice-looking map! It would look great framed. NICE VINTAGE Wood ITALIAN Made OLD WORLD Desk GLOBE 10" Tall; Antique Map
Up for grabs is this unique vintage wood Italian made Old World Globe. This piece stands 10 1/2" tall from bottom to top. And is 6 1/2" wide. Globe is says"Made In Italy" on the bottom. Pretty cool piece even if you can't read Italian. I can't be totally sure what the globe itself is made from. There are also illustrations of sea monsters and ships throughout the oceans and seas. Globe spins on its axis with ease. Very minor wear to be found on the base where there is a couple tiny bumps on one side of the base. You can probably see them if you zoom in on a couple of the pictures. It's not really that noticeable when looking at the piece in its normal position, and is in overall great shape! Antique Vintage - Round Ice Bucket Music Box - World Map Atlas - Must See!!
This auction is for(1) Ice Bucket music box as seen in the pictures above. This is a very rare and neat ice bucket. The outside is wrapped in an awesome world map atlas that looks antique like. The metal is a brass color that has a great patina to it. The knob on top of the bucket winds up for the music box portion. When the lid is lifted the music starts playing from the bucket. There are no makers marks that i see on this bucket. I am not sure of the exact age of this item. I tried and tried to find the name of the song this bucket plays but i could not come up with a match. A very unique set of German maps from World War II. The inscription in the second photo reads"Taken From German Officer In Battle Of Bulge.The country of Germany is sectioned off into a set of 8 fold out maps that show roads. Infrastructure and I believe fueling areas. These are entirely written in German, so I am not sure what other information is noteworthy about the maps. These maps are all showing signs of wear and some are in better condition than others. The carry case is also worn considerably. I fear my photography skills have failed to show how awesome this set is. It's so rare because the coffee pot still has its lid. The creamer and sugar dish(with its lid intact) are still together, and I have never seen this bowl listed before. All pieces are in very good condition, no scratches to the frosting. The sugar bowl does not have a spoon. The coffee pot does show 2, 4 or 6 cups line demarkations. Coffee pot is 6 1/4" tall Sugar bowl is 3 1/4" tall to its domed lid Creamer is 3" tall Bowl is 3 1/2" tall and rounds out very beautifully to 4" wide I have six matching coffee mugs in a separate listing. This map was cut and mounted on oil cloth so it could fold and was portable and it has metal brass grommets on the top so it could be hung as was typical of the time for classrooms. Neat old one. Has some brown paint splotch on the back. But at least it doesn’t show on the front. Neat big one for your wall. Colorful. Definitely used condition. Not pristine, but has a lot of character. Vintage 1936 Rare Art Deco Philco Radio Station World Map Lithograph on Canvas
Here is a gorgeous and quite rare period piece- a Radio Manufacturer's Wall Display featuring a beautiful World Map showing the worldwide coverage of radio broadcasting power of the Philco Company. The now defunct manufacturer of home and short wave radios in this era. This piece is a rolled up map on 2 ebonized(blackened) wooden dowels. The map and illustrations are lithographed on light weight canvas. The map side appears to be glazed or rubberized for long wear and sheen. This piece is decidedly Art Deco in design and dates from the heyday of the Art Deco period. The Great Drepression. This item is designed so that the map appears to be revealed behind a purple curtain that is opening to reveal the map. The colorization on this map is lovely in deep blueish-purple. Burnt orange, pea green, yellow, black, medium green, wheat or tan, ... moreand light blue. This is perhaps a one-of-a-kind piece. My guess is that this piece hung in at the Philco headquarters or one of its broadcasting affilicates. It is quite large: 59" x 40" please keep this in mind when bidding because the shipping will cost a little more. The map itself is a pure marriage of catography and art, rendered as a stylized version of the various continents and oceans. The map labels only the continents. Oceans, and major cities where the Philco Broadcasting system was operational in 1936. An interesting feature of this map is that on inner tan border is hand written in hard pencil the words. Save for Mrs. Olrich" Which probaby means that this lady asked the Philco company to save the map for her once the company no longer displayed it- in my opinion, adding credence to the possibility that this is a one-of-a-kind piece. The colors on this piece are great and still vibrant without any apparant fading. Overall, this piece is in very good condtion. However, there is some roughness and along the side edges of the canvas. The map is fully attached to the wooden pieces as originally; the wood is a little dingy and could be cleaned with oil. The

Antique World Map in Stunning Gold Foil Up for auction is a stunning replica of Hondius' decorative world map. The original was first issued in the 1630 edition of the Mercator-Hondius Atlas. Though hard to capture in photographs. This map has gorgeous golden tones with a golden frame perfect for your elegant decor.
