PULL DOWN SCHOOL MAP of North Carolina by Hearne Brothers, one layer, VINTAGE
This is a one-layer map of North Carolina produced by Hearnes Brothers. This is an intermediate map. So it is more detailed than a primary or early learner map. The map does have bright colors and simple-to-read text. This is a vintage map. There is not a copyright date. This map measures 54 inches high by 64 inches wide. It comes mounted on a spring roller. With a wood dowel at the end. This map shows a little wear from general classroom use. But overall it is in good condition. This is an older map, so there is some age(a little yellowing, etc. There is a small tear by the dowel rod on the left-hand side that measures about 1.5 inches. It is right along the dowel rod, and it does not affect the function or look of the map. This map would make a great addition for a traditional classroom. Homeschool, or just a design for your home. GUC ~ good used condition. There is a minor tear approx. 2" long on the lower right side of the map where it attaches to the wood bar at the bottom from use and age as to be expected for a used school map. Vintage Pulldown School Map wall USA 1968 Detailed Retro pull down colors NR
I just acquired this map of the US and its a really good find. Its big about 7' wide and 5 1/2' long. Lots of color detailed showing the Legends for Land sea and population(see Pictures) The map is in good to very good condition and will transform any room you hang it. Please keep in mind its almost a half century old and is not new. One customer asked me if a map had been in a smoke free home! Its a School Map how the heck do I know. All I could say is its been in dry storage for 30 years. Some of the maps have been repaired over the years and may have tape. How to Repair Old School maps The round dowel is cut in half by the manufacturer and the new map is simply glued or stapled to one halve and then screwed to the other. Its basically sandwiched between the two halves. They made them this way so the schools could do there on repairs. ... moreThey printed the maps on canvas with several inches below and above the map.This was done so the school could do the repair work. Most schools could not afford to buy another one or send it to the manufacturer for a tear to be fixed when it would tear they unscrewed it. Cut the section that had the tear and put it back together. Please keep this in mind the older maps that have been rolled up and stored. They need to hang for several days lay flat. Should your map not straighten out simply remove the screws reset the map.Trim it if necessary and screw it back At some point you may tear it and need to repair it. Now you know how.

Came in an old hanging metal container and one of the maps of South Dakota was dated 1929 so believe this to be circa early 1930s. it has been mounted on a simple pine wood frame to hang up and display. This map is old! Back in the day Aj Nystrom signed the maps similar maps I have we're made around 1909. This one may have a date but it would be sandwiched in lower dowel. That's how the University's repaired the torn areas. Pull the dowel apart remove the map trim it and screw the two halves of the dowel back. Vintage Pull Down Relief School Map 1965 South America Wall Continent Detailed
This is an older Denoyer GEPPERT classroom map that is in good to very good condition. One of several South America maps the others are Wenschow the size is a bit unusual most are either the slall canvas prints or the very large this is in the only one I have this size 43" wide 60" long' no hardware to automatically roll up just the two wood dowels I have around 5 or 6 South American maps left. No 2 are the same however eBays double listing policy makes listing them a waist of time. If the automatic software used thinks its a double listing it simply limits the visibility. A very frustrating policy I have not been able to resolve. No 2 maps are the same. I have to use the key words in order for people to find the maps. Using the same key words also flags many of my listings. These maps are the heavy paper used by some schools and purchased as a set or series. The maps were either mounted on canvas or were not. Same print but it cost less when it was not mounted and attached to a dowel. I have so many of this type Its simply not worth the time to take a lot of pictures and describe them one by one most have a tear or two that’s easy to repair. Just expect them to have a few flaws.
