I couldn't find out anything about this clock or find very much out about United clock corp. Brooklyn N.Y. online. The cardboard face is a little buckled and there is some body damage as seen in pix. But it does still make a good old rare Will Rogers novelty if anything else. Rare Ansonia Art Deco Mantle Clock, New York, United States of America
This Art Deco Ansonia Mantle Clock was manufactured by the Ansonia Clock Co. New York, United States of America. It has the Trade Mark in the middle of the face. It measures 10" accross by 9" high and is 5" wide. The clock chimes correctly when you move the arms but it isn't working. I believe it has been over wound. If that is the correct term. I also believe it can be fixed quite simply. The timber case is in very good condition. It has the pendulum and a key. RARE VERY UNUSUAL ANTIQUE BRITISH UNITED TINY MECHANICAL CARRIAGE CLOCK CA 1900!
We have a large number of vintage and antique clocks currently listed along with an equally impressive number of music boxes and other very nice antique and vintage collectibles. Be sure to have a look at our other items! I have never seen another clock like this one before and it's not likely I ever will again. It has to be one of the tiniest carriage desk clocks I've ever seen in a real clock and one of the more unique as well. According to the embossed lettering on the back of the metal case. The clock is a joint venture of"Great Britain and France" and created in"Birmingham England, more than a century ago. Together they formed the"British United Clock Company" and patented this clock under the same name and created their logo as"BUCC" as stated on the"Trade Mark" on the dial. The case ... moreis made of heavy brass and a brass carriage ring is found on the very top and two brass peg legs under the case as well. There is a shiny brass bezel surrounding the dial which leads me to think there may have been a glass crystal in it at one point but not now. The dial resembles thin bakelite or similar materials. Each hour has a black round backdrop with fancy arabic numerals at each hour mark. The hour hand is black metal but the minute hand is missing. The logo and name are shown above the escapement and the word, Patent" is shown below in block letters. The back of the clock has the embossed information as I've already stated and a large winding key with a winding directional arrow embossed on the back as well. There is a slow/fast adjustment underneath the case; never seen one mounted here before. The clock is fitted with a mechanical, key wind movement and seems to work just fine here.been ticking for hours and the hour hand has moved so I believe it is keeping time. Keep in mind this is a very old clock and we don't know the service history so some adjustments or service may be necessary once the clock arrives at its new home. We often advise our clock c

The plastic holder for this set is in remarkable condition. On the reverse of the holder, near the quarter, there are small abrasions and fissures that appear but has not cracked the case to degrade the integrity of the coins. The coins have that deep cameo finish and should grade well if sent in to a professional grading service. Note: When observing the 1968 set. Forgive me that I placed the 1969 box under the 1968 acrylic set holder. This was a photographic error. You will receive the correct set in the correct box, no worries.
