This is a very visually appealing c1870s 8” Charles Holbrook full mounted terrestrial table globe. The overall condition is vintage very good. With the expected wear for a 19 th century antique globe; however. There is no damage(e.g. dents, missing gore) Description& Condition: The cartouche reads: Chas W Holbrook's Eight Inch Globe“ The 8” globe has green oceans. A racetrack analemma, printed time scales at both poles, and a very detailed gore(e.g. rivers, mountain ranges, African tribes, ocean currents, isothermal lines) It is mounted in a full ring metal meridian. And sits in a decorative metal tripod base, with a wooden horizon ring and zodiac& calendar horizon band. Note: this is one of the most striking 8” globes made during the 19 th century– and this globe is as much a piece of art as it is a scientific instrument. This ... moreglobe reflects the world as it was after The Civil War(1865) and before the colonial division of Africa following the Berlin Conference(1884) Empires still dominate Europe. Antique 8" Rand McNally Terrestrial Globe on great claw foot stand
A very cool probably circa 1900 8" Rand McNally globe on a very cool claw footed stand. The globe is in rough condition as you can see from the photos. The stand is in very nice condition but there does seem to be an improvised globe mount with some rubber washers. Maybe the globe can be repaired or a new one found. Still a very cool looking display piece. No international bidders on this piece.

WWII era George Cram terrestrial world globe – rare 8” size globe on wooden base
This is a small 8 inch terrestrial world globe made by the Geo. F Cram Company of Indianapolis. Indiana. It’s made of coated paper gores over pasteboard with a time dial at the North Pole. It’s on a gilded metal bracket on a wood(perhaps oak? wartime dish-shaped base. I estimate this globe to be WWII era- early to mid 1940s. Germany has annexed Austria and Czechoslovakia. The oceans are colored turquoise and the trade routes are red lines with distances in miles between various cities. It also has small red triangles scattered all over indicating short wave radio transmitters. Overall the globe is in very good condition. There are some minor paper losses(as seen in photos) and the base wood has a few scruffs. The globe is missing the bottom metal ring which holds it up tight(see photos) But you can’t notice this unless you look from underneath. ... moreIt’s probably a simple fix. This globe is in good condition with a few slight marks showing it's age that adds to the character and true vintage effect of the globe. Rand McNally Indexed Terrestrial Art Globe with Glass Base from 1940 - so fine!
Here is the marvelous Rand McNally Indexed Terrestrial Art globe. Circa 1940, in outstanding condition. Cradled on a heavy molded black glass base. It shows Germany having annexed Austria, Czechoslovakia has vanished, Korea and Formosa are Japanese, Manchuria is Manchukuo, India's partition and Israel's creation are years off, and Africa has the colonial names of the period. Note that the globe features 8 famous sailing vessels, nautical distances, and wonderful detail now long disappeared. This 12" globe has the polar spindle holes used when mounting with meridians. But here these are covered with a North Pole and South Pole round patch. The result of no meridian and no spindles is that so much of the wear to Antarctica and the north pole typically seen simply do not exist here. In fact, the globe surface is exceptionally fine, ... moreaside from 2-3 very minor blemishes, and the loss of about 30% of the tape around the equator. Please inspect the photos as these are super-sized for your viewing. The black glass base is flawless. Molded to fit and support the globe. There are no chips, cracks, or scratches to the base and with it in place, the globe stands about 13" high and weighs about 5 lbs. unpacked. There is no shortage of globes listed on eBay. This is beautiful antique globe. Made by the George F. Cram Co. in 1949. It plugs into the wall and lights up like a lamp, but spins like a globe. The globe can also detach from the base, and turn off and on. The base is metal and includes two figures(2 atlases) that appear to be holding up the globe. It's in great condition, although it has three little nicks in the south pacific ocean off the coast of Peru. The little nicks are pictured above. Pre WWII c1935 Replogle 10" Black Seas World Terrestrial Globe - nice metal base
This is a rare black seas 10 inch world globe made by Replogle Globes. Chicago Ill. It’s in very good condition with just some very minor paper loss about 2 ½” x 1/8” around part of the Equator. Overall. The colors are vibrant and crisp. It sits on a nicely shaped metal base(maybe aluminum? and has a full metal ring around the globe. I estimate this globe to be mid 1930s. It shows Machoukuo and Arabia rather than Saudi Arabia– but has Istanbul and Iran. It still shows Ethopia and Somaliland as separate countries. 1930s Rand McNally 12 inch World Terrestrial Globe on Unique Art Deco Glass Base
This is a 1930s. Pre-WWII Rand McNally 12" world terrestrial globe, resting on its original black glass base. It has beautiful coloring and features several explorers’ ships(Columbus’ Santa Maria, Captain Cook, etc. in the oceans. Overall the condition is very good. The art deco glass base is perfect. But the globe has three small indentations in the oceans that are about the size of a small fingertip. Note that there is no paper loss in these areas. This is a seriously stunning vintage CRAMS 16" political terrestrial illuminated globe. It's an amazing color and would look great in any mid century design. Perfect for an office or home. These are so hard to find. Especially in this color. It has a little bit of peeling at the seams, and a few scuffs on the stand, but in overall good condition for its age, and it works! The beautiful rich wood base measures overall 5 inches in width and is 5" inches tall. This Jodocus Hondius Globe is made of printed gores(specially shaped map sections) modeled after the actual 16th Century orginal cartographers globe. The gores are cut and applied by hand on papier-mache globe spheres. The globe is meticulously handcrafted using the complicated. There are some uneven panels as a result of the hands fading. This terrestrial globe is a design from a globe by the dutch cartographer(map maker) Jodocus Hondius. I purchased this globe from an antique estate sale and used it as decor in my farm house. I have moved and have no need for it now. It is an Old World globe and the cartographer is Lluis Duran Huix. The label also reads"Saint Hilari d. Sacalm. The map shows Persia and not Iran(name changed in 1935) and Israel is not shown; I found that if Israel is shown the globe was made after 1948. The map has illustrations of Gods. Ships, animals and navigational routes. This globe sits on a sturdy wooden base(looks hand carved) and spins beautifully on its axis. Metal points on top and bottom. Very unique and a great conversation piece! The photos show where the paper is lifting just a bit from its age. This vintage globe is in good condition. But the orb/sphere does have some picks and paper loss(see photos for condition) The equatorial band is intact, with the exception of a 1/2" long piece that crosses over Ecuador. I believe the 9" diameter desk or table top globe dates to sometime before 1945 and the end of WWII, as Germany has not yet been divided into East& West Germany. Also, there's no Pakistan or Israel on the globe(Pakistan came to be in 1947 and Israel in 1948) By the time of this globe, Italy had invaded Ethiopia as the region is named Italian East Africa(this happened between 1935-1941) The cartouche on the half meridian globe reads: CRAM'S UNIVERSAL TERRESTRIAL GLOBE-9 INCH-Made by THE GEORGE F. The tin base has a zodiac calendar, the north pole metal cap tells"world time" and the ivory colored longitudinal arm is made of hard plastic. There are some minor issues with the globe, slight rusting on the equator line, and a minor 3/4" indentation just off the coast of California, and there is a small amount of usage dirt at the base of the longitudinal arm. All in all a wonderful old globe.

VINTAGE 1930s CRAM’S 10½” UNIVERSAL TERRESTRIAL GLOBE w/ IRON RING & WOOD BASE
Description: You are bidding on a vintage 10½” globe made in the 1930’s by the George F. Cram Co. of Indianapolis. It is mounted in a cool iron ring. And comes with a wooden base suitable for placing on a desk. I have a pretty good idea that the globe was made sometime between 1936 and 1940. As it shows several interesting political boundaries. Take for instance the geographic boundaries of“Italian East Africa” alongside“British Somaliland” this is a political situation which only existed between 1936-40, facts which I have gathered from doing some research. One cool detail on the globe is related to WWII era Japanese-held“Manchoukuo” Manchuria was seized by Japan on Sept. 18. 1931, and is not recognized by the U.S. Government. The globe is labeled“Universal Terrestrial Globe” No. 105. 10½” Please note: The wooden base is sturdy ... morebut wobbly. And so may need to have one“foot” propped up by ~1/16” or so in order for it to stand firmly with“no wobble” Condition: The globe and base are in decent condition overall. But they do show some wear and tear from use over the years. Here are some details for your consideration: The iron ring has a slight irregularity from the original manufacturing process. And it has“rubbed” against the surface of the globe over the years. As a result, there is a pattern of wear to the surface of the globe which falls roughly along the“Tropic of Capricorn” including and particularly to the middle of South America. There is also some wear to spots of Australia. Antarctica, India, the U.S. state of Michigan, and a scuff along the International Dateline. A small piece of the“equator tape” has chipped off near“Sumatra” The iron ring has some very light areas of rust along the outer edge. Though it is not very advanced. VTG Rand McNally Terrestrial Floor Globe on Wooden 3 Legged Stand NICE
This is a 12" globe(measured 38" all the way around the equator and then divided by pi 3.1416) It has a brass axis around it so it spins inside the wooden stand. The wooden stand is 30" tall and has 3 legs. The stand and the globe are in very good condition. The wood has minor vintage wear and I really see no wear to the globe. The stand could be shined up very nicely with some Old English oil. I believe it is walnut or mahogany. I'm guessing the globe is from the 1960s but I haven't done that much research. This one has several different historic ships scattered over the globe. The stand comes apart in three pieces which has come in very handy for shipping as you can imagine it will be in a pretty big box! This auction is for a circa 1938 Rand McNally 12" diameter Indexed Terrestrial Art Globe. It sits on a solid wood base. But there's an insert carved out in the middle underneath that you could remove it and replace it with another base, should you choose. This is a standard RM terrestrial globe but with excellent coloring including lithographed color ship pictures from the Age of Discovery shown in the oceans they sailed. Both the globe and base are in great condition- minimal scratches, etc. Again, I'm no expert, so if you have specific questions that I'm not addressing here please ask. Rand Mcnally world 12" terrestrial globe rare w wood cradle free shipping
Globe is 12" and in VG condition and I don't see any flaws in the litho. It was well kept. It's a Rand McNally Terrestrial globe in relief and 1 inch + 666 miles. It has the famous ships with their names underneath them and Great Britain is in pink and it says Soviet Union. It has the Analemma displayed with it's meaning and the wood cradle has protected it all these years and also is a great display holder. This globe contains"all the geographical divisions& political boundaries to the present date. Carefully compiled from the best authorities. Engravings by Rae Smith. Globe measures 12" DIameter by about 23" H. Condition: Normal amounts of wear to the globe. The line along the equator is cracked and separating in areas. Chipping around this portion. Various degrees of wear throughout the globe. Chipping at the top portion as well. Brass base in very nice condition. Could be professionaly restored.

VINTAGE 12" CRAM'S UNIVERSAL TERRESTRIAL WORLD GLOBE W GOLD METAL BASE 16" TALL
Up for your consideration we have vintage Cram's Universal 12" world desktop globe with a gold toned metal stand. It is about 16" tall and 12" diameter. The globe spins freely and I don't see any damage to the gold toned metal areas. There is some paper loss to the mapping where the two pieces were joined together. There is a silver piece of metal at the top of the globe that is bent but doesn't alter the globe when it spins. There are also some blue spots of paint on the globe toward the top. We have recently purchase d a major estate of a serious collector of all things unique. Vintage and antique. This collection has been compiled over the course of the past sixty years and has so much to offer. Vintage Gilman Joslin 10" Terrestrial Table Globe circa 1880s.
Gilman Joslin 10" Terrestrial Table Globe circa 1880s. Up for auction is this fascinating 19th century world globe. It is a Gilman Joslin 10" terrestrial globe with printed hour calotte at the North Pole. And having a brass calibrated half meridian, raised on a turned wooden ebonized stand with central baluster standard and dish base. The oceans are cream colored and geographical features are outlined in green with some green shading and individual"countries" are in a variety of colors. Various physical geography features such as"limit of bananas" limit of grapes" limit of wood" are indicated by lines. The age of the globe was an interesting search as many place names seem archaic and quite pre-date the actual age of the globe. The Hawaiian Islands are labeled as the Sandwich Islands when this term ... morewas outdated by the 1860s. Two very interesting omissions occur at the poles. The Canadian Arctic islands of Melvile and Banks are only marginally noted with Victoria and Ellesmere entirely missing. The only notation that anything is at the South Pole is a notation for Peter the First Island. Alexander the First Island and an inscription that Weddell sailed to 74 degrees 15' south latitude. These two islands and Weddell occurred in the early 1820's and other than these three items there is no Antarctica. The clincher for the age of the globe though, I believe, comes from the identification of the"Congo Free State. The Free State was only in existence from 1884-5 to 1908. Given the other aforementioned locations I believe this globe was made sometime in the early 1880s. The physical dimensions of the globe are: 10 inches in dia. 17 inches high, the base is 9 inches in dia. and the baluster is about 6 inches tall. There are a couple of condition issues…note the pictures. There are two cracked/broken areas on the globe itself. A couple of chips or paint splatters on the base and the globe needs a good cleaning. A good restorer could very well put these to rights and you
