The Clans, Families and Major Battlefields of Scotland Map from Border Art
This is a new. Still in tube, Map of Scotland from Border Art. It measures 24-1/2 inches x 19 inches and shows the" battle sites, the Declaration of Arbroath, the Raising of the Standard and the locations of nearly 250 of the major Clans and Battlefields. There are also miniature portraits of William Wallace, Prince Edward, Charles Stuart and Robert the Bruce. This map was hand-drawn before being printed on the highest quality paper for framing. I purchased this map from the National Trust of Scotland when I was in Scotland. 911 happened while we were in Gretna Green. This map has remained in its protective tube since then. Never exposed to smoke, perfume, scent of any sort, just put away. It is fascinating and I finally had the opportunity to see where my clan lived and the battlefield of Culloden where there are mass graves of many ... moreclans. Including mine. I love it, but am moving and don't have enough room to display it as it deserves.

Johnston's Travelling map of Scotland. Produced in 1879. According to internet research. This is in very good condition for its age. The cover is a bit worn, with some slightly lumpy bits- see photo. There would have been a clasp which is no longer there- you can see on the cover where it has been. Map is linen and in excellent condition. What is interesting about this item- there is a railway timetable stuck to the inside cover, with prices. There is also an inscription in the cover. The book belonged to William Ferguson, 56 Hill Street, Glasgow. A real collector's item

Johnson’s New Illustrated Family Atlas was first published in 1860. When the territories of Colorado and Dakota were first making their appearance. The publishers of the first edition of Johnson’s atlas were given as Johnson and Browning; subsequent editions were published by Johnson and Ward. In the first edition. Johnson and Browning were listed as"successors to J.H.Colton and Company" The Johnson atlas was published in revised editions until 1885. Because of the time period spanned by its publication. The different editions of the Johnson atlas are an excellent chronicle of the westward expansion of the United States, as well as the geographical effects of the Civil War.
