Vintage School Map Ancient Italy
Recently came into possession of a bunch of old school maps. I was going to save them for myself. But have recently left the teaching profession, so onto eBay they go! This is a General Reference Map of Ancient Italy, put out by the George F. Cram Company of Indianapolis. It is not a pull-down map, but rather comes on two wooden dowels that roll up and tie together. This is a large wall map, measuring about 54 inches wide. Not sure of its age, but its definitely vintage- I would guess 60's to early 70's, but that's just a guess. It's in wonderful shape for its age- looks like one pin went through it above the"An" in"Ancient" at the very top. Otherwise condition and color are great. HUGE Vintage School Map of SE ASIA 6' x 7.5'
It hurts to part with this. But. Westermann. 1969. 72" x 90" yes, that's 6 x 7.5 feet! So far as I know, Westermann's are the biggest maps you'll find on ebay(and they're a bit of a rarity) Anyhow, I love it and colors are vibrant. Some schmuck scribbled in'dirty little war' in pen by Vietnam, but it's very small and quite pale- not even visible in this photo- and I think you could easily/ delicately erase it. This is a one-layer United States pull-down school map produced by Nystrom. This is a sculptural relief map. I'm not sure of the exact copyright date. This map was used in a classroom. And therefore it shows general wear and tear of classroom use. It also does have some cosmetic issues. There is a tear in the left-hand side(about four inches long) at the dowel rod and map. This does not affect the function of the map, but is a cosmetic issue. This map measures 65 inches wide by 72 inches high. It comes mounted on a spring roller. With a wood dowel at the end. Michigan State Nystrom Pull Down School Wall Map 48" x 70" Native American

I'm not sure of the exact age of this map(Most likely the 1980's) It has a somewhat typical laminated highway map on the front. But on the reverse it has a large map showing the Indian tribal locations and land sessions and another map showing the when and where the different regions of the state were colonized by white settlers. The surface of this ... moremap measures about 48" across and is about 70" tall. It also includes the built in mounting bracket so it's ready to install. The spring mechanism on this map works. But it's a little touchy. You sometimes need to pull it very slowly in order for it to catch into the open position, but it always works. The map does have some flaw including a few rough edges and other small flaws from several decades of use.
