This is a vintage wall map of the United States from 1820-1860. Entitled"A Quarreling People" published circa 1960 by Rand McNally. This unique pull down map shows the United States during the Civil War. The map shows cities, railroads, industry, abolitionist incidents in 1835, slave revolts, and slave rescues in 1851. It is color-coded to show the percentage of slavery in each state. Also included on this map is the election of 1860, an illustration depicting the underground railroad, and a chart of slave population between 1810-1860. Antique Denoyer Geppert - pull down map -1927 - A10 Westward Movement OHIO
This for a very cool antique Denoyer-Geppert Co. Chicago map attached to antique Hartshorn Wooden Spring Roller. The map is A 10 Westward Movement compiled and drawn by R. Baxter Blair. It also shows Naval Engagements war of 1812 and is from the Hart American History Series. It is old. Not a later reproduction. The copy right on it is 1917-1928. It is on it's antique genuine Hartshorn wooden spring roller which is 47 1/2" long. The roller works perfectly. The map is 43 1/2" wide. I just don't want to unroll it again so I don't have the measurement of how long it is but you can guess from looking at the photos. The colors are very nice and crisp. It is old and has tears and issues(you can see the photos) But it is mostly in tact and the main problem is there is an approximately 2" tear down the left side. The map ... moreis all there but it needs repair. I think there may be small bits that are missing, but this is something that I believe someone who restores maps could restore. 1950s Denoyer-Geppert Cloth Pull Down School Map Peoples of Europe/Economics
Absolutely incredible pull down school map from Denoyer Geppert Social Science Series. Dated 1956 and 1958. This is a canvas/cloth map that measures about 43"x 62" WITHOUT the hem. It includes tension rod but NO mounting bracket. Will operate on window blind hardware available from any home improvement store. There are 2 different maps featured; Peoples of Europe(as of Jan. 1938) and Economic Europe. I found no holes, tears, markings, water damage or significant creases. There is a very faint pencil mark and light storage soil/darkening on the bottom 6" of the map and some soil/creases on hem. Map is very crisp, colors are bright and vibrant, there are no smells at all, no yellowing, just a very very clean map. You will not be disappointed with the condition of this old map. This map. For sale here is a beautiful original vintage historical school pull down map of Europe 1918-1945 Printed in Germany by Westermann in 1976 The dimensions of this map are(approx) Width(inc poles) 233cm/ 7'7" Length: 187cm/6'1" width measurements include the fastening clip which can be removed. 6-10 cm long) This lovely old historical map of Europe in 1918-1945 is not only decorative and colourful but also is of interest to world war II enthusiasts. The main map is of Europe 1918-1937 there are a further three small maps to the side one of which shows government alliances after 1920. This map is in German. These beautifully decorative old charts are hugely popular at the moment as you get a lot of interesting wall filler for your money. It is printed on quality paper backed with canvas has black wooden dowels top and bottom ... moreand has a cord to hang it from. This chart has spent most of its life rolled up in a cupboard so the colours are still very fresh. Obviously this map is not new and there is wear consistent with it's age.
