If you've ever seen ... moreone of my globe auctions, I LOVE GLOBES and always have at least one at home. So, this was like the answer to my prayers, my two loves- booze and globes. Bad Carole! Well. I've probably drank all the alcohol one lifetime is allowed and I no longer entertain like I used to when I was younger. So, I figure that I'll let this one go to a new person who loves globes and/or bars. And this item will easily accommodate the lover of either or both! Originally I was going to have to take this apart to ship. So I show pictures of it coming apart. But I found a wonderful box that it can ship in so I've put it back together for shipping. The pictures do show that its very easily disassembled for storing between uses if you don't have enough room to display it always. In fact, I used no tools to take it apart or put it together, the metal square that holds the magnet arch was used as a screw driver as it felt brass and was strong and the perfect size. I also like the fact that the top and bottom are not permanently attached as that would seem like a formula for breakage as surely someone will walk into it and break the globe, the glasses or the liquor. Worse yet, that could break all three~! I also have pictures of some of the nicks on the piece. There are probably a few more. But they are all small and don't really deter from the beauty of this old world globe. It was made in Italy and the stamp on the underside clearly indicates that. Here's some measurements: size of the globe: diameter is 8" the outer ring is: 17" the height is: 22" there are small nob feet on the bottom. They are about 1" high the bottom shelf would be perfect to store additional glasses the inside is perfect to store liquor bottles and more glasses you can also use any of the spaces to store the ice and tools if needed

Vintage Mid-Century 1960 George F. Cram Universal World Globe 10-1/2" w/ Stand
This is a great vintage mid-century globe from the George F. Cram Company of Indiana. I got it at an estate auction house in Sunnyvale. CA. This globe was made sometime between 1958 to 1961: globe shows Hawaii as the 50th US state(1959) globe shows Taganyika-the country became Tanzania in 1961- globe shows The United Arab Republic(1958-1961) globe shows Madagascar as independent from France(1960) globe shows French West Africa, Belgian Congo and French Equatorial Africa(these ceased to exist in 1960) The globe is marked"Cram's Universal Terrestrial Globe 10-1/2 inch, Made by the George F. Cram Co. Indianapolis, Indiana" Natural scale- 1=47,800,000 One inch = 755 Statute Miles The globe rests on a gold-tone metal stand and spins well. The metal stand is in excellent shape. There is a 2" long section of the equatorial tape ... morejust under Ceylon that is loose(see photo) I have not attempted to fix it, although it could be carefully glued back into place. The globe is about 33-3/4" in circumference and is about 16" tall. You are bidding on a Beautiful 12" Midnight Blue Raised Relief World Globe on a Matte Finished Metal Base by Globemaster Overall Height of this Globe is 16-1/2. Chief Cartographer was Terrence E. Donavan and the Cartographer was Kevin M. Dzurny. The Vibrant colors of the continents against the midnight blue waters is very unique. In addition. This globe is a raised-relief. Globes with raised relief better emphasize the mountainous areas of the world. They are there so that you can see and feel the mountains although their actual height on the globe does not have any relationship to the true relative heights of the mountain ranges. In addition to the metal base, this meridian is also metal and is numbered from"0" at the equator to"90" degrees at either pole. The time dial at the top of the globe is made of clear plastic ... moreand is used to compare time around the world. Although this globe is BEAUTIFUL there are a few flaws. If you look at the picture of the base you can see a few scratches and there is a small dent on the rim where it appears a little"flat. In addition. The picture below shows where this globe has been dented. The dent is toward the bottom of the globe and is a little bigger than a quarter but not as big as a half dollar. There's no date but there are the countries of Siam, French Indo China, Persia, an Chosen(Korea) It has little paper loss, mostly at the pivot points on both poles. It twirls in a brass colored stand that can be disassembled. There is also a little paint loss on the bell shape bottom. The paper is soiled where it was touched the most. Old World style lighted globe on nice base w/3 weather gauges?
I recently went to another estate sale here in town. This house was crammed full of stuff. They had made shelves with wood& turned over cat litter buckets& they lined every wall! I never did hear the story for the sale. But it was huge. This globe light was already lit up which was good because the helped had to crawl under tables to unplug it. It has that old world look to it. There are 3 different gauges on the base(pictured) I have no clue what they measure or their accuracy. There is a small scratch by one of them(it's pictured too) The helper pointed out that this globe has a smaller pointer light inside it- sure enough, when you move the latitude& longitude wheels(located under the globe) the little light moves. Here again, I'm not guaranteeing it's accuracy. It's pictured in Soviet Union, hope you can make ... moreit out, with the reflection from the flash of the camera on the surface. There was a sticker on it as well. I tried to pull it off& just the top layer came off. It's stuck real good& I was afraid of scraping it off& damaging the globe. It's pictured as well. It measures 14" high. And 12" in wide with metal frameworkd. The Globe itself measures 11" in diameter and the metal base measures 7" in diameter. All original. Condition wise there are minimal minor scuffs that do not appear in the images. Very minute. There are some ripples on the globes surface that is a result of forming the roundness during the manufacturing process. All in all Very Nice. I Love It. But have no room. Vintage c 1950's 10" Peerless Weber Costello World Globe Deco Lines Blue Oceans
Here is a very nice 1950's vintage World Globe manufactured by Weber Costello Company. Chicago- it is a"Peerless" The globe is 10" in diameter and stands 13" high. It is made of paper gores on. Likely, heavy cardboard. It is a political globe feturing political boundaries. Cities, and basic physiographic global information. It is set on a single meridian made of steel. The convex shaped base. Also made of steel, has a distinctly art deco look to it. The meridian and base seem to be coated in a rich pewter-colored galvanized look. But they are not galvanized. Thre is absolutely no rust or blemishes on the meridian and base. The oceans are a very attractive pastel aqua blue; there is no fading or discoloration. The equater tape is fully intact. The ridge lines between some of the gores has raised a very little. Maybe ... more1/128" or less, as is normal for a globe of this age. I see not paper loss. The overal condition is very good to excellent. The globe rotates silently and freely on the meridan. At the bottom of the meridian where the treaded rod bisets the globe and attached to the meridian for removal. It appears that a small nut is lost, but this can easily be remedied at a hardware store; it does not affect the globe's utility or aesthetics in any way, in my opinion(see Photo 9) I date this globe from about 1953 or 1954 using the"Omniterrum" dating sytem which you can view at. The day/night flange at the North Pole is intact and original. This globe has sharp. Simple lines and makes for a nice mid-century look. The coloring of the countries and lettering is very soft. Or pastel, and easy on the eyes. This is not a difficult globe to find, but maybe in this condition. It also features ship routes with miles in the oceans. It is extremely detailed and precise for the cities and place names. A nice well-aged and well-kept 1950's table globe for use or collection. No international bidders- except Canada- please. Vintage World Globe 40's or Early 50's World Map
The names of the countries in Africa is enough to date this globe back over 60 years! Our world's geography has changed considerably since this old girl was produced. This 10" diameter globe stands 15" tall overall. There are no marks other than the yellowing of the paper that covers the globe. The base appears to be brass and has taken on a nice patina that only age can produce. The last photo shows the darkest yellowing and there are no darker spots than this.
