Here is AN ESTATE SALE ITEM THE DIAMETER OF THE GLOBE IS ABOUT 38" around and STANDS ABOUT 42" TALL all together. This Cram's Imperial Globe was made in the USA and dates from the mid 20th Century. It lifts off the stand and SWIVELS around when set in BASE. Since this is an old item- there is some discoloration on globe. As well as scuffs. The stand needs polishing on wood. Hard to Find! Late 1930s 12" CRAM'S Universal Terrestrial World Globe
This fantastic late 1930's CRAM'S Universal Terrestrial GLOBE is a super find! The globe itself is a 12" size. The overall height. With base& meridian, is 17" it is approximately 13.5" at its' widest; the base diameter is 8" The look is so right: the original true blue has aged to more of an aqua blue(just what collectors are looking for) it has an impressive. Heavy, cast iron full meridian, painted to look like brass; it's bronze-look metal base has an art deco stepped design. Not only is the look there. But the condition is as well(see my many pics) The globe is sturdy& tight; there's no separation at the equator as is found on many vintage globes; very little discoloration(at a few of the seam lines only) or missing pieces of the paper surface(here& there very inconsequential bits have ... morescuffed off) The cast iron meridian& metal base surfaces are in excellent condition- there's even some gold striping on the"bronze" base. All in all, a very well-constructed vintage globe, meant to last, it surely has! By itself the globe weighs a hefty 4 lbs. Carefully packed for shipping it will weigh 6 3/4 lbs. VINTAGE COLLECTIBLE 1948/1949 METAL WORLD GLOBE
Auctioning is this Great Collectible Vintage World Globe. I've researched this Globe and it appears to be from the 1949-1949 year. It is all Metal with a white hard plastic degree bar. I have not tried to clean/shine this globe as it takes away from its value. The circumference is 29 1/2 inches. The circumference of the base of the Globe is approx. 20 1/2 inches. The height of the Globe with the stand and degree bar is approx. 12 inches. Due to its age. It does have some wear to it. There is some fading, as I've tried to show in the picture and also a couple of dents in it. I've also tried to show that in the pictures. I found this, plus other globes at an auction recently. There is a brass name plaque on it but I am sure it can be removed or maybe a new one can be added with your name on it. It is one of the fines ones that I have seen. Up for auction is a 12" replogle globe/lamp by the Meredith Corporation. Made mid-century. It works very well.I tried to show in the pictures all angles and the bottom as well. There is a sticker on the bottom that says Under-something(I coldn't quite make out the whole word) Laboratories, and under that it says"portable lamp" with Issue No. 6840.
