The globe measures approximately 4 1/2" in diameter. The stand is approximately 5 3/4" square at its base and 4 3/4" tall. The globe is mounted on a wooden ring that fits into the stand to rotate on its axis. The ring is approximately 6" in diameter and 1/2" wide. The stand is notched so that the ring and globe fit into it securely. The globe has a long metal pin that runs through its center allowing it to spin. The globe slightly moves up and down on this pin and it may be necessary to move it very slightly to the center of the pin so that it rotates freely. Please examine the photos carefully so that you get an accurate idea of the globe's condition and what you are bidding on. This globe is really lovely. But it is post-1990 for sure. See closeup photo of Russia, it was made after the breakup of the Soviet Union. The Atlas is much older. Copyright 1953, and shows some wear. It has very interesting maps of Africa when many nations were still colonies of European powers, and America only had 48 states. Not sure how the old Atlas ended up with a much newer globe, but I think it's a pretty cool old book. There is also a 1961 paper booklet. the story of the globe" published by Replogle. You are viewing a vintage. I'm guessing 1970's) Cram's Imperial world Globe. It stands about 34" tall and is mounted on a wood pole that stands about 17.5" tall. The pole is connected to a 10" diameter metal base. The pole and base show vintage ware. Look at photos to see. The globe measures 12" in diameter and is mounted on it's axis by a rotating plastic gold colored support beams. They too show vintage ware. You can see paint missing on the top, near the axis on the support beam.The globe shows ware as well. The line around the equator is missing. It weighs about four pounds and is easy to move.
