Original Cast Brass Truax Ore Car Tag-Globe Iron Works-Stockton California
Offered here is a beautiful original cast brass mining machinery tag that is embossed. In part, The Truax Patented Automatic Ore Car" with patent dates of 1892 to 1898. Manufactured by the Globe Iron Works, Stockton, California. Measures 4.50" diameter. The number 3614 stamped in the bottom ear shows the number specific to the ore car this tag came off of. Tag has been polished at the high points, with the original black"orange peel" background left intact. These tags have been reproduced in the past- This Tag Is Original! Makes a wonderful display item. The Truax Ore Car works was started in Denver. Vintage THE WORLD BOOK GLOBE circa prob. 1960s or 70s due to countries WOOD BASE
This is a vintage. Probably 1960s or 1970s The World Book Globe. I am basing the age on some research in regard to the countries on the map at the time. It stands on a wooden base. It does have some loss of the metal finish as seen in Pic#4 and#5. It also has lost its tape around the center which holds the two sections together. This can be repaired by just replacing the appropriate kind of tape. You would have to check your local listings to see who does that type of repair. It stands about 17" tall and is about 36" in diameter. The wood base is the nice part of it since you don't see those too often.
