New York Quotation Co Printing Ticker Tape ~1900, Chairside Lamp configuration
New York QuotationCompany Printing Ticker Tape Machine. 2041 This auction is for one New York Quotation Company printing Ticker Tape machine and includes only the NYQC unit shown on the right side of the dual ticker picture. It is serial number 2041. It is the chairside lamp version of this NYQC ticker tape machine is shown on the right side of the picture. The other NYQC ticker tape machine. Serial number 2817, and is being offered in another ebay auction. The W.U. Co. sent messages from individual hand keys over interconnected networks of telegraph wires. Hand transmission was supplemented by machine transmissions of stock quotations and trades for the gold and stock market exchanges. Thousands of printing ticker tape machines. Similar to the one in this auction, were supplied with stock& commodity actual trade confirmations from a ... morenetwork of exchanges located in the larget US cities, e.g. Philadelphia, Boston, New York, Washington D.C. and Chicago. The cities were all on DC power as AC power had not yet been invented. In order to send automated quotations. Etc. that were readable, all printers had to be initialized on line. Lightning strikes or static electricity anywhere on the system would cause the ticker tape machines to go"out of sync" with the transmitters and result in garbled transmissions. To correct this problem each transmitter had a syncronize function built into the transmitter that was initiated before any transmission. During WWII as part of the war effort the printing ticker tape machines. Which had been replaced by the Dow Jones News Service, were declared surplus and melted down for war materials manufacturing. Only a few hundred ticker tape machines of the many brands that were produced still remain today. Only a very few of the New York Quotation Company printing ticker tape machines still exist and only two of the NYQC chairside versions are still known to exist today. This unit is unrestored. The comic is in protective a sleeve with recently changed chip board. This comic is with the scarce Statue of Liberty Cover. We see that all of the pages are intact. And we do not see any cut advertisements. The staples through the spine do appear the be loose, but the centerfold is still firmly attached to the comic. We see that this is a more scarce comic, and we have seen it offered in similar condition for $80 in other retail outlets. Indeed, the cover has some nicks and the spine is distressed from reading, never-the-less this does not detract from the overall appeal of this piece. This early DC National Comic shows some sign of light spine rolling. Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor is the greatest linebacker of all times. And what we have here is an authentic game used helmet worn by Lawrence Taylor from his days with the New York Giants and signed in thick silver sharpie L Taylor 56 N.Y.G. I had this signed many years ago. Taylor was amazed that I had a piece of his game used equipment. The photos do it no justice. To see this helmet in person. It is just amazing. It is truly a beautiful helmet and has been in my collection almost 10 years. Unfortunately I am moving and starting to sell some of my prized possessions. This is an authentic New York Giants game used helmet worn by Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor during the late 80s. Richard Russek, C.E.O. Andy Imperato, President. The COA is signed by CEO Richard Russek and President Andy Imperato. I would like to say the helmet has awesome use with some large gouges. Scratches and some paint smear. This was probably used the whole year just by the use. Not like the ones today that are used in the NFL. This type of helmet does not come along very often. It is truly for the serious collector. The price that I'm putting on this helmet is more than reasonable compared to some of the helmets that you've probably seen on ebay before. You would not be disappointed on owning this helmet. I have had it displayed in my collection for over 13 years. It still has 1 original grommet. These signs are very hard to find in any condition. There is loss of metal from rust, on the lower left corner as well as the right side of the sign, also there is 2 holes drilled from the back, on the right side. There is light fading, but still retains some gloss overall. Never been touched up or repaired. Please look over the photos carefully, and ask questions before bidding. For auction is a Vintage Texaco 5 Gallon Regal Oil Can. This nice old can originally held 5 gallons of Regal R&O 32 O il from Texaco. Inc. located in New York. It bears the stamp 26-5-78 on the bottom which I assume to be the date May. 26 1978. The can is in very good condition with a little rust along the bottom rim and some spotting overall.
