Up for auction is this for classes set from the 1964/65 World's Fair in New York. All glasses are in good used condition with a slight exception of the green one; it has a couple of spots that appear to have fading. You will receive the actual four glasses that are pictured with this listing. The content is as follows: the World's Fair Circus. Shea Stadium, the New York State Exposition, and Hall of Science The glasses measure 6 9/16" tall. None have any cracks or chips. All are clean and ready to use when you receive them. Downton Abbey era MATCHED PAIR KNOLE KNOLL SOFAS 50% to Pets Alive in New York
This listing is for a MATCHING PAIR of knole- knoll sofas. rachet arms raise or lower arms mechanically[If you watch Downton Abbey you will be familiar with the red velvet sofa in the drawing room/living room. That is a Knole/Knoll sofa except they don't show it with the arms down. Th e arms on that sofa would be held in place with fancy cording wrapped around the two dowels instead of having arms that can be raised and lowered mechanically. By hand, like my pair of sofas. These true vintage sofas have been owned by my family since 1950 when they were bought from an estate in Greenwich. CT. At that time(1950) they were upholstered in an exquisite gold raw silk and were likely over 2 0 years old which takes them to the era of Downton Abbey. I have never seen any marks on them to establish them as being made by Knoll(or Knole) but don't ... moreknow where to look. In early 1990s they were re-upholstered in the heavy brocade you see in the present photos THESE ARE THE ONLY MATCHING PAIR OF KNOLE- KNOLL SOFAS WITH WORKING RACHET ARMS I've ever seen. My home is SMOKE FREE. The dimensions of each are: width: 56" height: 34" depth: 30" They are VERY sturdy and VERY heavy. They are well padded on the seating back and on the arm rests. The pillows are filled with goose and duck feathers(which are heavy feeling now) The upholstery has been damaged on the side and corners(cat scratched) shown in the photos) THE TOP of one of the four dowels that releases the rachet mechanism has broken off. It could be replaced if the upholstery in the back was released allowing the dowel to be repaired(or replaced) The dowel still works to operate the rachet by pushing down on it with another dowel. The ring top on another dowel has slipped down an inch or so; it needs to be well glued to match the other dowel top. There is a sizeable stain on one of the cushions where coffee spilled. These sofas can be used as they are BUT to make them comfortable. The cushions MUST be re-filled with new and supportive materials. To mak

For sale is a 1913 York small bore Al Tru shepherds crook cornet(36XXX) Overall. This cornet is in lovely condition for its age. The plating is very in tact, with minimal dings/dents. The plating is very intact. With wear on the first and third valve casing, the bottom of the lead pipe where the RH thumb would rest, and a finger sized spot at the bottom of the first valve slide. There is a small dent at the back of the bell, a couple small dents/dings at the second tuning slide and main tuning slide, and some small dings on the bell. All of which could be easily removed by your repair person. All tuning slides are free. And this cornet plays nicely(though would benefit from new water key corks and valve stem felts.essentially a basic tune up) Comes with period case and an extra main tuning slide and original York lyre. Up for bid is an original July 1863 dated civil war descriptive list relating to Sergeant Thomas Mabee of Company D of the famous 124th New York Orange Blossoms regiment. Document measures approximately 20 X 15.5 when unfolded and exhibits moderate wear including period folds and some light age foxing. The document is signed by Captain James Benedict. Mabee was in the US Army General Hospital in West Philadelphia at the time. Not sure if this was related to Gettysburg or not. The 124th saw quite a bit of action at Gettysburg. From the estate of baseball player Lewis Carr from the time he was with the Toronto Maple Leafs baseball team. Great image of the Hotel itself a small tear at top but it doesn't detract from the overall piece. This item originates from the estate of the professional baseball player Lewis S. Carr who was a member of the 1902 Toronto team. Carr was the original shortstop for the 1901 Pittsburgh Pirates but unfortnately was beaned by a pitch by Bill Dinneen that ended his season and his Major League career. Upon being injured the Pirates moved their 3rd Baseman to Short and he began his tenure at that position. His name was Honus Wagner. Lew Carr was famous college football& baseball player at Hobart College(and later at Syracuse where he ... moreattended Law School) and then played"professional" football for several of the early New York area teams including the Newark A.C. and the Orange A.C. He joined the 1901 Pirates and would play in th minors for nearly a decade before retiring to become the Syracuse University baseball caoch, and also was Assistant Coach for the Syracuse Orangemen football squad. Beautiful wood mantel clock marked Linden on the face with very melodious chimes. Sticker inside the door indicates that the actual manufacturer is the Cuckoo Clock Manufacturing Company of New York. One chime rod has a small amount of corrosion which does not affect the sound of the chimes. Chimes have an"off" switch. Quartz clock operated by a D cell battery.
