Here is an old map of Binghamton. NY. It says City of Binghamton on a dotted line and it shows the Chenango and Susquehanna Rivers meeting in Binghamton. It has the streets named on the Southside and all the other parts of Binghamton, like Riverside Drive, Main St. Court St. etc. The map has been rolled up for some time. It measures 34" x 22" with some rips on the edges and folded corners but still in great shape.

Description: A scarce map of 1837 map New York City issued by Humphrey Phelps. This map details the southern part of Manhattan from the battery to 14th Street. Though it technically extends, though with less detail, all the way to 41st street. Phelps identifies all streets, parks, and piers. Numeric tables to the left and right of the map proper also provide reference to public offices, museums, markets, hospitals, and churches. Phelps copyrighted this map in 1830- though no known examples seem to have survived of the first edition- and it may well be his first published map. Subsequent editions were issued until about 1841, by which time the map had become ... moreoutdated due to New York's rapid expansion northwards. Langdon's map covers New York from Forty Fifth street south to the Battery. This map divides and color codes the city according to wards, of which there are 14. All streets are noted as are piers, slips, parks, and important public buildings including Bellevue Hospital, the West Battery Castle, City Hall, the House of Refuge, the Alms House, and the Penitentiary. In terms of Parks, City Hall Park, Washington Square Park, the Battery, and the Parade(today's Madison Square Park) are noted. This map appeared at an exciting time in the ... moredevelopment of New York City and was drawn, as the title suggests, to illustrate the many civic improvement and developments in process. These included the Lower East Side Landfill, commercial and real estate developments in what was then the northern part of New York City(indicated by shading) and the construction of various docks, piers and ferry crossings. At the base of the map there are views of City Hall and the Merchant's Exchange. This map appears to be nearly identical to S. Mark's pocket map of the same that was issued in 1827 and folded into J. Hardie's Description of the City of New York. The Marks edition was issued uncolored. Langdon's edition appears to be an independent issue and generally appears with original color. Bellin's important 1764 map of New York City. The map depicts what is today the Financial District at the southern tip of Manhattan between the Hudson River and the'Canal de la Longue Isle' or east River. Bellin's plan of New York is taken directly from an inset attached to J. B. L. Franquelin's 1693 regional manuscript map. Cartographically most of the raw information upon which the map is based was likely drawn from the French pirate and ne're-do-well. John Reaux, who became a citizen of New York City in 1692. Prior to the 1763 defeat of the French forces in America at the end of the French and Indian War, the greatest threat to the strategically ... moreimportant but struggling colony of New York was potential invasion by the French. Were the French to successfully capture and hold New York, they would essentially control the vital Hudson River Corridor between New York and Montreal. Not only would control of the Hudson allow the French to dominate trade in the region, it would effectively divide the english colonies leading to strangulation and ultimately collapse. No one was more aware of this than the citizens of New York City and, of course, the French. A French naval invasion of New York was very much in the cards throughout much of the Colonial Period, but for such to succeed the French needed intelligence. For this this they turned to the French privateer John Reaux, who was naturalized as a citizen of New York in 1692. No sooner had Reaux become a New Yorker than he attempted to capture a ship and seize its contents- several thousand pounds sterling! Reaux fled to France to avoid imprisonment and there, according to his own confession, he was interrogated by naval authorities regarding the feasibility of an attack on New York. Description: A scarce and impressive colonial period 1749 George Grierson/ Mark Tiddeman nautical chart of New York City and harbor. Oriented to the west and centered on Coney Island(Cunny I. Grierson's chart covers from Staten Island to Jamaica Bay and from Sandy Hook to Harlem(northern Manhattan) There is a compass rose in the lower left quadrant. Relief, towns, and mills are represented pictorially. Numerous depth soundings fill the harbor and sand banks are rendered with stippling. Some twenty-seven cities and villages are identified, often with quaint spellings of still common place names: Brockland(Brooklyn) Hobuck(Hoboken) Blomindoll(Bloomingdale) West Chester(Westchester) ... moreand Bushwyk(Bushwick) to name few. The map also identifies various mines and mills, including Schyler's Copper Mine in modern day North Arlington New Jersey, and an Iron Mill south of Sandy Hook. Grierson's was well-known for issuing piracies of English maps, most particularly those of his contemporary Herman Moll. He also issued a pirated edition of Mount and Page's English Pilot, from which this was extracted. The cartography for this map is actually the work of Mark Tiddeman, who first issued it in the 1732 first edition of the English Pilot. The map's parent publication, book four of the English Pilot, was one of the most influential collections of nautical charts ever published. Form the first printing in 1732, the English Pilot appeared in some 37 editions over the next century, remaining popular even after much of its contents became outdated and better charts, such as those contained within Sayer and Bennett’s North American Pilot and Des Barres’ Atlantic Neptune became available. This is a digest sized bawdy humor pulp magazine of 64 pages plus the covers measuring about 7.25" x 5" This pulp magazine is illustrated throughout with what look like woodblock engravings with the bulk of the jokes and humorous content relating to Prohibition. This map covers two full pages and measures about 10.25" x 7.25" including the margins. This pictorial map features several icons related to the Prohibition Era including Earl Carroll's Bathtub. Tex Guinan's famous speakeasy, the Statue of Liberty saying"Give Me Liquour or Give Me Death" and more. This magazine was owned by Wilford Hamilton"Captain Billy" Fawcett who created the Fawcett Publishing empire from the highly successful Captain Billy's Whiz Bang magazine he had launched in the early 1920s. Smokehouse Monthly was an early Fawcett title based on the company's successful Whiz Bag format. This magazine is really an excellent artifact of the Roaring 20s and the Prohibition era. Of the Citizens' Association under the direciton of Egbert L. Viele, Topographical Engineer. Description: This is Egbert L. Viele's 1865 topography and waterways map of Manhattan. One of the scarcest, most important and most enduring maps of New York City ever published. Covering the entirety of Manhattan Island, Viele's map details the canals, swamps, rivers, ditches, ponds, meadows, and drainage basins of Manhattan as they existed prior to the city's urban development. A version of the Viele map remains in use today by architects and contractors who need to be certain they are not building over underground ... morerivers and swamps that may destabilize a new construction's foundation. Roughly translated'Manhattan' is an American Indian term meaning'Island of Hills' The American Indians living in the region prior to the Dutch settlement of Manhattan treated the island as a huge hunting and fishing reserve full of trout streams, bass swamps, and sunfish ponds. Viele contended that as streets and buildings were constructed the city's natural drainage retreated underground where, stagnating, it led to a'humid miasmic state of the atmosphere' conducive to yellow fever, malaria, plague, and other epidemic illnesses. Viele dedicated nearly 20 years to researching and perfecting this masterpiece of cartography. The basic map and above ground topography of the Viele map is drawn from John Randel's surveys of 1807 and the Commissioner's Plan of 1811, which formally laid out New York City's grid system.
