Metal Eagle "flying in front of the blue moon" Lamp/Light with Blue Glass Globe

It has a stunning blue glass globe sitting on the top of the Eagle in flight. I say that it is almost a complete metal base because I noticed that one of the feet is a kind of rubber make. I'm not sure why this is. It is the foot that is hanging on it's own. I also noticed that the very tip of the Eagles wings is a heavy plastic. The height is almost 12" and wingspan is almost 13.5" The detail in the metal is wonderful. I'm sure it could use a complete dusting to get in all the crevices. Up for bid is a Vintage Rand McNally 12" Lunar Moon Globe with the Stand and a Rand McNally Map of the Moon. Both are in good condition for their age. But do have some minor wear. The moon globe has some staining along the lines of latitude and longitude(which can be seen in pictures taken) but has no dents or scratches. It has the Original Clear Acrylic Stand. 16 inch Replogle Floor Globe - Early 1980's - Phases of the Moon Stand
This fine globe was a christmas gift to us from a family member. It was bought new at a Rand McNally store in the early 1980's. It features a contemporary black metal stand. The"metal horizon ring" depicts phases of the moon cut-out from the horizon ring. The globe has a"relief" surface(giving some 3-D dimensionality to topographic features) and"antique" style oceans. The stand is approx. 30 inches tall and then add approx. a little over 8 inches for the Globe making the overall height a bit over 38 inches. 1970s Mid Century Modern vintage genuine OLYMPIA LUNAR 1 globe moon table lamp
OLYMPIA LUNAR 1 24" table lamp Authentic 1970s Mid century Modern This old lamp stands about 2" tall. It's base is 9" wide. And the original plastic globe( which is textured on the INSIDE- the outside is smooth) is about 11" wide. It's cord is unusually long at 15+' feet. It shows some age, but it is in relatively good condition; the globe sits atop the base comfortably; it is not fastened to it. There is a plastic piece that fits into the bottom of the base which has the name OLYMPIA LIGHTING PRODUCTS, Pompano Beach FLA- LUNAR 1- 150 Watts Max 19560( and pat. pending, so apparently this was an early mode) on it. This plastic piece has two screw holes in it, as does the plastic base, but no screws are present. Common sense tells me that it should be screwed into the plastic base and the globe should rest on ... moreit, but it sits just fine- even more secure- as is.and you can see that in the above picture. I guess you can put some screws in it if you want to, but I don't think it's necessary. as pictured below) The on/off button is black; it may have had a cover on it. But I'm not sure. One click and the lamp is fully on; the second click dims the lamp substantially. The metal lamp base( bottom) is heavily weighted for stability. There is a small chip on the plastic base that holds the globe( as pictured- it is truly hardly noticeable because of the other plastic piece)and this lamp works! See pics for best description VHTF! In the pic below. You can see that I turned off the lights and took a pic so you can see that it works. IT IS SO MID Century modern, and it has such a space age, futuristic feel to it. I guess it is called a LUNAR 1 for a reason! Now. I have seen these listed on eBay before with a high starting price and RIDICULOUSLY exorbitant shipping costs. While this is heavy, I researched the shipping price according to weight and the size of the shipping box( 19x19x19) and it's about 100 dollars CHEAPER than the shipping that I have seen on other lamps like this

Old Planetarium Orrery Globe Earth Sun Moon Hubbard Scientific 50's - 60's
This orrery planetarium(an educational model of the Earth. Sun, and Moon orbits) effectively demonstrates both the annual seasons and the monthly phases of the Moon. The orbit of the Earth with the inclination of the poles is held constant through all the seasons by a chain and sprocket drive to show the true inclinations of the Earth axis at different seasons. As with all orbiter models, the true scale is impractical to show because of the actual very large differences in the size of the true astronomical bodies and the very large distance to body diameter ratios. The actual diameter of the Earth orbit of this model is about 24 inches. The model Sun is about 6 inches in diameter and the Earth and Moon are about 4 inches and 1 inch. It was manufactured by Hubbard Scientific in the USA. I don't know when. But it is fairly well made and ... morein excellent working condition. The moving parts operate smoothly. The Earth globe is made of metal with a nice painted map. The globe has a trademark for"J. Chein and Co. Made in USA" Because the map shows Leopoldville in the Belgian Congo, the manufacture would be some time before 1966. Here is some information about the globe maker This item is in good functional condition and looks good with the normal very minor dents and scrapes to be expected on a used item(see photos) The plastic night side shade around the metal earth has been repaired(see photo) and there is a small dent in the Earth near East Antarctica and some minor rust in the Arctic and a small scrape in the paint South of Hawaii. see photos) There are some marks on the base where a label was removed. The Sun has marks in two places on the lowe half. Near the bottom. I have removed the night shade piece for shipping and(in my opinion) the item looks better without it. I am shipping the shade and, if you want, you can re-install it. It does not fit very well and is difficult to install, so I recommend leaving it off. But it is up to you. German language 1963 Raths Mondglobus lunar moon table 13" 33 cm paper globe
Lovely old lunar map made by Raths in the german language. It measures 33 cm. I don't speak German so I have photoed the description. The only"baddie" is that someone removed the strip of covering around the middle of the globe causing loss of paper. I have shown the worst area. It revolves nicely and there is nothing wrong with the stand other than some tiny white spatters that I will not attempt to remove. due to my inexperience on globes. This is sold"as is" I will package it carefully for shipment. I have discovered another date listed on the globe of 1957 on a lateral line. I don't know what it might mean because of the language thing.

Offered from an estate collection is this wonderful vintage 1963 tin lithograph Replogle moon globe. Globe is about 6 inches in diameter and about 8.5 inches high. Globe highlights USSR and U.S. lunar landing areas. Including a band showing the proposed Apollo landing areas. Great early example without far side detail by cartographer Richard M. Grossman. In very good vintage condition- terrific for display or for mid-century style. There is one small dent that is hard to notice and could possibly be popped out. The rod adjust down to 50" The glass globe is 5" tall. The weather vane also features Moon& Star and is 21" long. There is a small chip on bottom of globe that can be covered with globe cap. RARE 1963 Lunar Tin Globe Bank by Replogle with Key This amazing find is truly a rare find indeed. It has the original key taped to the bottom with aged& yellowed scotch tape. The globe itself is in near mint condition with the exception of a small pin hole visable in picture#4. I have located just a few similar 1963 tin lunar globes. But they have the lunar landings& crash sites boldly printed on them. This one, however, does not. They seamed to have possibly misprinted this gem. I personally contacted Murray Hudson. Vintage 1960s? Chein USA Metal Moon Globe 8" with Base Good shape but there are a couple of small dents. I guess someone dropped it. The largest dent is about 1.25" across and I tried to show it in the last photo. There are so many printed names it's a little hard to see it at first. Iconic Denoyer & Geppert NASA Lunar Globe EXTREMELY RARE! 1969 G16LB Apollo Moon
This rare and unique icon of the“Space Race” was one of the first American produced globes exhibiting complete cartography of the far side of the moon. The Russian Luna 3 probe in 1959 sent to Earth the first pictures of the unknown dark side of the moon. These images were the template for a Russian lunar globe(26cm) in 1961 and a German version by Rath Globen(33cm) in 1963. Giving the Russians a clear lead in the“Space Race” It wasn’t until 1969 that the Americans in a race to the moon would launch Apollo 10 in a dry run for an actual moon landing, providing the world with color transmissions of remarkable quality and spectacular views of the Earth and Moon. It was with these transmissions and hundreds of still photographs from both Apollo 8(first manned craft to orbit the moon) and 10(closet approach to the lunar surface) that NASA tasked ... morethe Lowell Observatory lunar mapping facility division in a culmination of it’s work, to produce 12 complete and geographically accurate lunar map gores. These were subsequently used by Denoyer-Geppert in recognition of the Apollo 10 Manned Space Flight in creating the16in. Lunar Globes for NASA. This Lunar Globe, based on Apollo 10 photography was the first to offer accurate and complete cartography of the Moon’s surface. A true artifact of the Space Age era, this particular first edition 1969 model is truly rare, as no landings are noted, and the far side of the moon is all documented but had yet to be named. This globe documents one of the greatest achievements of the 20th century. In excellent condition, could use a good cleaning. It is missing the top finial which can be replaced easily. Offering important History in a mid century modern design, this dominant Lunar model merges form and function at its best. A similar but later globe sold in April of 2014 for $4300. Hello there and welcome to my miniature world of moons! From the beginning of time. Man has been captivated by the mystery of the moon. No living thing has escaped her influence, and without her, our world would be a very different place. From the tides, to the seasons, from the emotions of every living creature, to our very concept of time itself, we are all inextricably bound to her. No other maiden could ever boast such timeless adoration, nor indeed compete against the magnitude of her influence and beauty. I so love the moon but have found it increasingly frustrating finding soulful& inspiring renditions of this beautiful and mysterious partner of ours. Without lines and crater names. Well the aim of my models, are to provide just that. beautiful tactile, ethereal miniatures. created for whatever reason we find ourselves drawn to ... moreher. enabling us to hold a little of her magic in the palm of our hand. None of these pieces are mass produced but are entirely handcrafted and limited in number- this is only a hobby so will never have huge quantities available. The image on the globes are taken from real photographic images of her complete surface. Divided into 12 gore segments which are intricately placed by hand. Any lines are invisibly rendered and then several coats of matt sealant are applied to create a durable finish and texture. From the offset. It has been my mission to create a life-like and honorable rendition of our moon and I am happy to say, that in the 3 years I have spent trying to develop them to the max, these models have a totally flush finish, with little resemblance to the traditional method by which they were made. This one particular piece measures 38mm in diameter(121mm circumference) and weighs approximately 54 grams. Each piece will come gift boxed and with a numbered certificate of authenticity. But almost never encounter this one(but don't get confused, this is not a bank) It is in really, really nice condition. No dents, or scratches. Perhaps only a few minor wear marks overall. A beauty. 6" globe.

Early Moon Globe without Far Side Detail - 1963 Replogle Globes Inc. 6" EC
Vintage 1963 Moon Globe 6 inch diameter and standing 8.5 inches on a metal gold painted base. Excellent condition. There is a couple of small splotches that look like food on the globe- but they definitely look like they would wash off quickly with just a bit of warm water. Or appropriate cleaner. There is a very small amount of rust where base joins bracket in 1 spot and in seam in 1 spot(equator) Otherwise, no dents, not faded, no scratches. 1 tiny pin-prick spot where paint is scratched. I probably could have cleaned this, but since I am not an expert, I will leave it to you to do it right. I fully disclose everything I see in my listings so you are not disappointed.
