The margins are clean and range form 0.5" to 0.8" 1-2 cm) on all sides. These maps were all'tipped in' to the atlas. 1705 Fine de Fer Map of Prats de Moliou, France Spain Border
1705 De Fer Map- Prats De Moliou Nicolas De Fer was the official geographer to the French king as well as being a successful publisher"dans l'Isle du Palais sur le Quay de l'Orloge a la Sphere royale' in Paris. Among his many atlases was his'Introduction de la Fortification. first issued in 1693 and showing the defensive sites of major European cities. This very attractive copperplate engraved map of the Roussillon town of Prats de Moliou comes from a 1705 issue of that atlas. It shows a heavily fortified town above the river Tech with an additional fort nearby. The map measures 7" by 9" Has hand colouring, and is in good condition.
