ANTIQUE LONDON 1747 BOWEN MAP OF BERMUDA & ST. KITTS
ANTIQUE MAP OF BERMUDA AND ST. KITTS. This map was published by Emmanuel Bowen(1693-1767) in London in 1747. The complete sheet measures 16X19 inches. With the plate being 13.9X17 inches. The condition is very good. It has old paper reinforcements done long ago. Picture 6 shows part of it lifting, but really not effecting anything, best left alone. Picture 7-8 shows reinforcements at top and bottom, again, done long ago. Again, these are not uncommon, and for me, add to the great character this map has. The coloring is great, I've researched this map on the internet, and it retails for $1200-$1800, and this is in comparable condition. It's a beauty.

England WE SELL ONLY ORIGINAL ANTIQUE MAPS- NOT REPRODUCTIONS Title: Cruchley's New Plan of London Shewing all the New and Intended Improvements to the Present Time. 1857 Desilver Map England & Wales London Liverpool Cornwall Thames Great Britain
Lake Erie Maps& Prints An Original Antique Map: Not a Modern Reproduction! We are Happy to Combine Multiple Purchases to Save on Shipping! Free US Shipping on purchases of 5 or more maps. Description: It is an authentic Antique Map: Not a modern reproduction! It is a steel plate engraved map with original handcoloring as issued. The most sought after of all the Mitchell Maps. It is from a rare edition of Charles Desilver's New Universal Atlas. Published by Desliver in Philadelphia in 1857. The map has a copyright date by Desliver of 1856 in small print in the bottom margin. Desilver's name and address 251 Market St. Philladelphia appears under the title area. The American Cartographer, Charles Desilver, bought the copyrights and plates of Mitchell's atlas of the same name and updated the maps and made some minor changes particularly ... morein the title block, added his own border style, choices of color and published the atlas from 1856 to 1859. The run of the Desilver atlas was more limited in number than the previous Cowperthwait publishing, thus the Desilver maps are the rarest of all the Mitchell maps published and difficult to find. A copy of the title page is included. Size: The map image measures approximately 12 1/2 by 15 3/4 inches on a 13 3/4 by 17" page. Condition: The map is in Very Good condition for its age with overall tonal aging and original handcoloring as issued. Blank on the reverse, printed on a strong flexible page, not brittle, basically as seen in the pics. There is some darkening around the edges, otherwise it is very clean with a nice anttique quality that would frame up nicely. The pic is of the actual map you are bidding. Payment Details: We accept most major credit cards through Paypal and Ebay. Please ask if you have any questions about payment. International and New Bidders are welcomed and encouraged. Payment is expected within 7 days. After which Nonpaying Bidders will be reported to Ebay to recoup our listing fees. Save on Shipping: We only charge one shipping fee b

ANTIQUE RARE but damaged London Admiralty cloth map of Portugal, dated 1869
We were sorting through our late uncle's belongings after his death. We found lots of postcard albums dating to the early 1900s. Amazingly. One of the albums had been covered by what appeared to be hard cloth paper to protect it. When we took the cover off. It turned out to be a London Admiralty cloth map of Portugal"published at the Admiralty, November 18th, 1869" We were going to chuck it in the bin until we realised how old it was! The map is obviously very rare but it shows damage and folds. Two little chunks have been taken out left and right to accommodate the spine of the postcard album and the map has been trimmed along the right border. Who in their right mind would use a precious antique map like this to cover a postcard album? Even so. Even in its present condition, we are sure it could be framed and preserved. After ... moreall, it has lasted since 1869. Best wishes. Kerry. Any questions, please ask.
