Kawamura Glass 5 World Map Plates/Bowls Cased Japan Made
5 plates/ bowls(they've got a slightly raised center. Maybe half an inch) that are 5.25" square and 7.5" if measured along the diagonal. The map on the dish isn't quite to scale but fits quite a bit into its illustration, and except for the continent names(no Antarctica) everything is in Japanese. For most of the world that means Katakana, except a few locations close to home that are in Kanji. The plates come crammed into that handled container and fit snugly within. A Sunrix Gift collection paper is inside. But seems to have nothing to do with the contents. All items look great.

This map is very large. Measuring 18" x 14" 46cm x 35.5) This particular map is of Japan. Alvin Johnson began publishing maps in 1860. For the first 2 years he published maps with the attribution to Johnson& Browning. In 1862 he began to publish maps under the name Johnson& Ward. This map was produced in 1862 and is a first edition Johnson& Ward map. You can tell the early edition maps by the different boarder around the edge(which we find is much nicer than later editions) This boarder was only used until 1863. The map is original and has not been restored. The hand coloring is original to 1862. These ... moremaps are not uncommon however the earlier editions are much harder to find. We also find the earlier edition maps have a much nicer color. The color of this map is very vibrant(don't let the pictures fool you. They are very difficult to photograph and much nicer in person) There is little to no fox marks on this map. Please take a close look at the pictures to be the final judge of condition. Unique WWII Era Embossed Men's TOOLED WALLET Map of JAPAN Pagoda & Geshia Girl
Here is a very unique WWII era man's wallet that is very nicely tooled or embossed leather that features a map with the cities of Japan. Mapped out is Pyonoyang. Seoul, Pusan, Saseho, Shimonoseki, Hiroshima, Kyoto, Senoai, Aomori, Kure,Osaka, Yokosuga, Yokohama, Tokyo, and Sapporo. The wallet contains several compartments or sections and windows for passes, photos or what have you. There is a slide lock mechanism that opens to reveal more windows to hold passes or photos. The coin or change section has separated from the metal frame and I have not attempted to slide it back in and will leave that up to the buyer. Other than the leather coin section partially out of it's metal frame, in very good condition. Made in Tokyo. The wallet measures 5-1/4" long, 10-1/2" when opened, by 4" high by 1" thick when closed. The back features an ad for the"Deluxe Double-Deck Stratocruisers" for Northwest Airlines Measures 4.25" by 7-3/8" closed and 19.5" by 27.25" when open. This map is in good to very good condition. There is a small tear in the back and the creases are getting quite worn and will probably tear easily. There is some light wear on the covers and some yellowing from age.
