Here is a great looking"Illinois Central" Railroad 50' Boxcar. This"N" scale boxcar was made by the Atlas Tool Company in Austria. The Illinois Central Railroad( IC) Sometimes called the Main Line of Mid-America. Is a railroad in the central United States, with its primary routes connecting Chicago, Illinois with New Orleans, Louisiana and Mobile, Alabama. This car is used but is in excellent operating condition. The boxcar features darkened metal wheels. Metal axles, plastic trucks, spring loaded Rapido couplers, and a raised rooftop walkway. There are no missing or broken pieces on this boxcar. The black lettering is crisp, clear and legible on this orange boxcar. The"Illinois Central" name and colorful black& white logo are proudly displayed the on both sides of the boxcar. A Road Number of IC 41677 ... moreand a Built Date of 6-39, along with other information is printed on both sides of this piece of rolling stock. This boxcar does not come in its original packaging. This is one of the Andreas Company's more elaborate productions. With hundred of lithographic views of homes, farms, stores, buildings. There are more lithographic prints in this atlas than in most of the later county atlases. There are city maps of Jacksonville and most other towns, and township maps in color. This large atlas is in rough condition, but is essentially complete, with only two items missing- the fold-outIllinois state map, and the upper corner of page 51(pictured) which affects some text and part of one township map. About 15 of the pages are loose, or with rough edges. Some of the maps have dog earing and rips at the bottom where they attach to the atlas. 1875 Atlas of Illinois - Warner & Beers - 16" X 18 3/4" - 142 pages
It's 10 years after the Civil War. Western expansion is all the rage, and a map making company in Chicago- Warner& Beers- is cranking out atlases of each county in the mid-west. Presented for your consideration is the 1875 Atlas of Macoupin Co. and the State of Illinois to Which is Added an Atlas of the United States. Maps of the Hemispheres, c, c, c. Which turns out to be an accurate description of the book. The first 48 pages are maps and information about Macoupin County in Illinois(county seat Carlinville) Each township has a page showing landowners in addition to geographic features. And there are several pages of line drawings of significant buildings in the county. This is followed by a 61 page atlas of Illinois. Each county is mapped(2-6 counties per page) A railroad map, history of the state, etc. Then a 24 page atlas of ... morethe United States(not as many states back then) a map of the West Indies(the Caribbean) and the Western and Eastern Hemispheres. Now you and I both know that this book is worth more sold by the page. But I just can't do that. As a successful bidder, you can, of course, do with it what you will. This volume is not in perfect shape. The binding is secure. And all the pages are tight, but the bugs, light, and time have gotten to it. The pictures show the major damage to the cover. The front flyleaf has had 11" cut off of it, so it is essentially a strip 5" wide from top to bottom. The cover page has some damage to the lower-right quadrant, but not near the print. Antique 1911 Standard Atlas Henry County Illinois
This is a 1911 Henry County Illinois Atlas including Plat Books. This Atlas is in fair to poor condition. The first half of the book has the pages loose or not bound at all. The second half of the book is fine. Someone has stuck many extra items in the Atlas like blue print specs and large calendars that I believe put stress on the binding causing the maps to come loose. They are all still there. Some of the corners are bent and torn from being loose for so long. The extra items stuck inside are really neat though! See some of the photos.

Up for auction are two of several 19104 C.S. Hammond Atlas of the World maps I have on eBay. There is a map on each side. So you can put them in a two-sided frame to get twice the pleasure from them. Each page from the Atlas measures about 10 x 13 1/4" The maps are very colorful, totally readable. And ion state maps, include identification of cities and towns, with their populations and locations on the map. Some maps also show the state's total population as of 1900, a breakdown of the state's population by race and gender, number of foreign-born and native-born, and land and water surfaces in square miles. Latitude and longitude numbers are shown on all four sides of state maps, but not on city maps. All the maps are generally in very good condition, all complete, no serious flaws. Set of 4 Matched Vintage "Hoosier"Jars: 3 Hazel-Atlas & 1 Owens Illinois (1936)
Nice Set of 4 Matched Vintage Jars– 3 by Hazel-Atlas(HA" and 1 by Owens-Illinois(made in 1936) with Repainted Lids in“Kitchen” Green We put together this set of 4“matching” Hoosier-style” jars; 3 are made by Hazel-Atlas(large“H” over a smaller“A” logo) and 1 by Owen-Illinois(the“O-I diamond” logo) Interestingly enough. Both companies made the same jars! The O-I jar was made in 1936 the Terre Haute, IN plant, which operated from 1934 to 1950. The“25” to the left of the logo indicates this plant and the“6” to the right indicates 1936 as in 1940 O-I started putting a period after the year code. The Hazel-Atlas jars were most likely made in the same period, i.e. pre-1940. They all have the same“5659” style code on the bottom as well as the“HA” logo and the design matches the O-I jar. The glass on all 4 jars is without issue. There are no ... morechips. Cracks or defects, nor are there any small“flea bites” chips or roughness along the edge of the opening; it is smooth to the touch all the way around on all 4. All four jars have the original lids. However, we repainted them what I call“Kitchen” green” The lids had already lost most of their original paint so we stripped the paint, applied 2 coats of primer and then 2 coats of a flat, non-gloss enamel spray paint. The lids look great, but up close 1 or 2 shows a few tiny“bumps” and one or 2 small indentations along the edge, but nothing serious. All lids screw on smoothly and tighten up well; they are the original lids the jars as made by the factories. Each jar measures approximately 6-5/8” tall and is a 3-5/16” x 3-5/16” square” The jar opening is 2-7/8” wide. VINTAGE 1893-94 MACOUPIN COUNTY ILLINOIS PLAT BOOK ATLAS MAP
I am AMAZED at the condition of the interior of this plat book. Very very crisp and clean with no tears. The binding along the exterior is deteriorated as you can see from the photos. The corners as well show wear. Macoupin County was established on January 17. 1829. It was formed out of Greene and Madison Counties and was named after Macoupin Creek, which runs near Carlinville and meanders southwest to the Illinois River. The economy was based on subsistence agriculture, and communication was to the southwest. In the middle 19th century, Illinois developed and changed rapidly. The greatest change was in the building of railroads, and Macoupin County was on the rail and road transportation link between St. Louis and the still-young metropolis of Chicago. The county lies midway between St. Louis and the relocated state capital of Springfield. ... moreThe economy was still based entirely on agriculture, but there was now easier access to markets. Towns were small, sparsely distributed, and any new communities were founded along the railroad lines that provided transportation. This item is an old 1872 Adams County. Illinois county atlas, published by Andreas Lyter& Co. of Davenport, Iowa, with the atlas in excellent condition for it's age. Atlas is complete with all it's pages, but covers are worn. Illinois map page is torn and retaped(see pictured) and atlas is in overall excellent condition for an old county atlas of this age. Some slight edge fraying on a few pages, and some handling smudges, and some notations on a few maps from former owners, but no serious damage or flaws. Atlas measures about 15x18 inches, it has 169 pages, with all pages here and none missing, as best we can tell from page numbers and Index. Binding is worn, but bound pages are still attached to the covers, with just a few pages slightly loose in the front of the book. Lots of information about early settlers, including info ... morethat would be helpful to genealogical researchers, one would think. Biographical information is listed by township, so researching individual names would require township of residence in order to find individuals. Atlas should be rebound to preserve it in it's present state, which would help prevent any future further deterioration. This is an original not a reproduction CD. I hesitate to list this item because of the extremely poor condition. This atlas needs extensive restoration but needs to be preserved. I hope you will see it fit for your collection and upon your discretion restored or separated into individual framed plates. I am offering it at a reasonable opening price including free shipping to the USA in hopes of it finding a good home. Please contact me with your questions or concerns before bidding. I will provide photos of individual counties and towns in Illinois that appear in this large folio format. It measures 16 inches by 18 1/2 inches. It's cover is quiet worn and spotted with dust and even a drip of paint. There are 103 pages currently. I think 4 pages are lost but because of the page numbering it is quite confusing and hard to verify. The general ... moreatlas pages are numbered. The Illinois counties are unnumbered and are printed with blank sides. Comparing the index and counting pages my estimate is 4 pages are lost including the City of Chicago map. All of the maps that are left would be beautiful framed and matted. Also would be valuable for genealogical and historical studies. This item is an 1872 Morgan County. Illinois county atlas, published by Andreas Lyter of Davenport, Iowa, with the atlas in very good to excellent nearly complete condition. Original atlas apparently had worn and damaged covers, and was rebound. Half of the Illinois state map is missing, and a few of the first pages have had reinforcing added to preserve them in current condition, but the atlas is essentially all here. Some handling smudges throughout, as one can see from attached photos, but all of the maps, and all of the old settlers information is/are here. We have found and sold here dozens of old county atlases in the past 20 years, but they have become very much more difficult to find in recent years.
