Colonial Williamsburg Hurricane Globe in Wooden Stand
I purchased this at an estate auction along with another globe and brass candlesticks that were in Williamsburg boxes-see our other listings for these items. So I'm guessing this is a Williamsburg piece also. Judge for yourself from the photos as I cannot find any markings on it. Huge and very thick glass that looks to be hand blown based on the swirling and dimples in the glass from manufacturing. Overall this is 21 3/4" tall with the globe being 20" by itself. It's insert tightly in the wooden(walnut? base and I'm not going to try and remove it for fear of breaking. Base is 8" diameter x 2 5/8" high and looks to be turned walnut with blue felt bottom(small spot of moth damage to felt shown in photo 9) Globe is approx 8" at widest middle area and 6 3/4" top diameter. I believe one of the brass spike ... morecandleholders was in this as there is a darker circle on the inside of the globe on the wooden base-visible in photo 4. Tanganyika, and French West Africa are some of the dated country names. This globe spins on a metal stand and has the original tag which tore off the base during transport. This globe was found in the attic of a former teacher in Memphis TN. Attics become very hot here and this is reflected in the surface of this globe. The colors have faded and there are some chips and cracks at the seams. The metal base also shows some spotting and evidence of age. Jeweled Globe Blue Lapis Semi Precious Stones 10" Goldtone Stand
This is a blue lapis globe with semi precious stones as the countries such as Ivory. Tiger"s Eye, Jade, Many others. These sell on eBay new for $399. This was a gift to me in 2006. It has been in storage, and while the globe itself looks perfect as does the compass in the bottom, the goldtone stand shows signs of thinning and oxidation at places. I tried to include a picture to show you the dullness areas on the stand. It is heavy, 31 lbs, and only needs a good home with someone that knows how to restore the gold stand. This Globemaster 12" Globe is in near excellent condition. This is a two axis globe with raised Topography world. It features a Wood walnunt turned stand with copper colored metal base. The globe overall stands 32" high. The metal base is 10" the wood pedestal is 15 1/2" There is no wear on the world globe, nice bright colors, the wood pedastal is in great condition and the metal base paint is excellent. In order to keep shipping cost lower I will ship the globe and stand unassembled. It is very easy to assemble, simply screw the wood pedastal onto the glode(the screw is preinstalled on the globe) then install the metal base onto the preinstalled screw on the wood pedastal and install the wingnut and tighen. This is a C87 Cram Imperial 12 inch Globe with unique stand and an Atlas. The Globe appears to be 1980's according to geography on globe. The stand has 2 metal holders to sit the globe on for display. The metal holders show a man(Atlas) holding up the globe when the globe place on the stand. The metal stands are attached to a wood base and there is a space for holding an Atlas book under the top of the stand. The wood has some mild wear and the felt piece tip on the stand needs 1 inch to be reglued.The wood stand measures 14 by 10 1/2 inches. The globe is nice with faint wear. Nice display globe. Vintage late 1969 to early 1970’s Lunar Moon Globe by Replogle. Moon globe measures 6" in diameter. Is made of metal and includes the original plastic stand measuring 6 3/4" wide x 3 1/2" tall. No visible dents, etc. The stand has slightly discolored over time, as some plastics will do, but is in overall good to very good condition. It stands approximately 15 1/2" tall and 7" wide at the bottom of the base. The stand looks like a bronze color. This vintage Cram's Globe does have wear but overall. It is in nice vintage condition and will look great on display. I did find one small hole with a small tear(please see photo) it's not too noticeable. The strip that covers the seam is lifting at the edge of the strip(please see photo) There is some light surface rust under the base. The bronze color on the metal does have scratches and some of the paint is flaked or chipped off. I don't see any dents in the globe or metal parts. The Oceans are a light blue color and the Continents have nice colors. The globe spins nicely. This nice-looking Globe will look wonderful in any home or office! You are bidding on a very nice mid century Replogle Globe Light in good working condition. Great for an office. Den or student room! The stand is made of dark wood and has letter/book magazine holder on the side. The hardware that holds the globe is aluminum. I could not find any dates on it but based on the map it is late 40's early to mid 50's. Cord has a switch built in to turn light off and on. The globe is covered in paper. Vintage Cram's Imperial World Globe & Wood Stand 38" Tall-12" Globe
Very nice globe and stand by Cram's. If you notice several of the wood plugs that cover the screws is missing. It really doesn't matter because I have to take the stand apart to ship it and the possibility that I can salvage all of them when I take them out to remove the screws is slim to nothing. You can pick these up at any lowes or home-depot. A lot of the time you can get them already stained to match whatever you are putting them on and they are not very expensive.
