Just a great piece of Chicago Zoological history. This wonderful guide book for the year 1938 features the first Giant Pandas in any zoo worldwide SU-LIN and MEI-MEI. Unfortunately both died within the nest couple of years. The Guide Book has 103 pages with many illustrations and still has its original intact color map. Size of the map is 14 1/4 X 18 3/4 inches and the booklet is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 inches. Also included is a typed letter from the Chicago Zoological Park to Mrs Margaret Brown of Benton Harbor Michigan. Giving information about the park and includes the original parking stub when she visited the Park in 1939. You will want to own this interesting and historic Chicago collection.

This is a Vintage 1950s Adevertising Standard Oil Co of Indiana Chicago Highway Map. Folded it measures approx 10" x 4" There is some wear on the edges and corners and a tear along one of the folds. There is also some faint discoloration marks. Please refer to the attached images. It shows some light signs of use you would expect from a vintage paper item. It is in great condition. It is beautifully illustrated with 36 ENGRAVINGS! It even retains its original 9" x 16" FOLD-OUT MAP! of Chicago showing the burnt district! Published in 1871. This book is in VERY GOOD CONDITION for its age and especially to be 143 YEARS OLD! ALL PAGES ARE PRESENT! and tightly bound with NO TEARS! or stray markings. Even the hinges are in like- new condition. The only notable imperfection is the map had a few tears that I neatly repaired with archival acid-free transparent paper tape made exclusively for the task. Hard to see. But disclosed for accuracy. This is a 1915 Railroad map of the Cincinnati. LaFayette& Chicago Railroad. It measures 12 X 9 inches. Map is from a salvaged 1915 annual report for the year ending December 31. 1915. Buyer will receive a copy of the 1915 index page of the annual report printed out on standard sized paper along with the map to prove authenticity. As this map will surely increase in value as originals disappear from the market place and are replaced by digital copies. Map will be sent priority mail rolled in a strong tube to assure that map arrives safely. We don't trust flat mailings. The whole map would not fit in our scanner. So we have shown a cropped image. The map you receive will have a rough edge and usually a tab that was used to find the map within the annual report.
