The overall image area measures a generous 49.9 x 58.8[19-1/2" x 23-1/2" The beautiful coloring. Dramatic topography, and coastal shading give this map great aesthetic appeal. It labels parishes, forts, towns, rivers, and coastal features. Longitude is measured from London and Ferro. The scans below give a closer look: Among the many specific labeled features are Charlestown. On Nevis, and the Guard House and Ruins of a Fort on St. Lucia. This position allowed him to draw upon their immense resources as well as have first use of new maps from exploratory voyages. Bonne used these to create his own atlases. The map depicts Caribbean settlements and exploration in the 1400 and 1500s. This is a professional school map used in world history classes in the 1960s. It is a canvas backed roll up map and quite colorful in person. The map is no longer mounted on a roll up bracket though. The vintage maps are great to display. You can mount them on foam board or smooth plywood. Some people use them for crafts since they are so interesting visually. They are great for home schooling also. The map is 50 years old and shows some wear and tear but over all is in nice condition. The map displays well with a lot of charm. This is a vintage wall map of Caribbean America. Published circa 1950 by Denoyer-Geppert Co. This unique pull down map of the Caribbean shows countries, islands, railroads, cities and towns, and various geographic features. This map is in great condition for being made circa 1950. The paper is in great shape with a few rolled folds. Stains, and some paper loss along the top of the map close to the dowel. The map measures 36 3/4 inches wide x 26.5 inches tall, and with the wooden dowels included it measures 41 inches wide x 28 1/2 inches tall. This is a large, beautiful wall map full of history and geography!

An original. Copperplate engraved antique map of HISPANIOLA(The Island of st Domingo called by the Spaniards Hispaniola. Subject to France and Spain, from the best Authorities) i.e. present day Dominican Republic and Haiti. Engraved by John Lodge. The map was published in 1783 by J Bew of Paternoster Road, London in the Political Magazine. The map is framed(490x340mm) unmounted and has outline hand colour. It features two mileage scales, a compass rose, lines of latitude and longitude, mountains, rivers, named coastal features and the principal settlements including Port-au-Prince and St Domingo. The condition of the map is very good, though it has not been taken out-of-frame and may be laid down. The map will be posted out-of-frame to international buyers.

In the Atlantic is a wonderful engraved cartouche of a gold mining operation with Native Americans contributing to the open treasure chest of the Europeans. It is from Colton's General Atlas. Published in New York by the Colton& Co. 1866, although there is a copyright of 1855 by Colton in the bottom left. A facsimile copy of the title page will also be included for authenticity. The map is not mounted, matted nor framed, being sold as a single elephant size folio sheet as shown in the main pic. It is a rare classic Colton map with nice color and the desired metalic border that would frame up nicely. Size: The map image measures approximately 12 1/2 by 15 1/2 inches(32x39cm) on a 14by 17 1/2" page ... morewith a margin all around for framing as seen in the pic. Condition: The map is in Very Good condition with overall light tonal aging and original hand coloring as issued. This an original antique folding map engraved by W. A.K. Johnston is from"The Royal Atlas of Modern Geography" by Alexander Keith Johnston. Geographer to QueenVictoria, and is published by William Blackwood& Sons Edinburgh& London, 1863. The map shows excellent detail. The map measures 62 cm x 49 cm, 24 inches x 19 inches. This map is in good condition. The map was printed before colour printing had yet to be perfected so the original colouring is done by hand. The map is printed on one side only and is perfect for framing. If you are unhappy with the item once you receive it, you can return it for a refund.
